Today, after nearly 2000 lessons, it is time for me to say goodbye to Japan. I am very grateful for the opportunity to teach such amazing kids for over 2 years. Thank you to the Aquatics dept at Purdy, all the parents and students who made my time here in Yokosuka so meaningful.

Another awesome option offered by MWR this summer! Try out snorkeling, water polo or synchronized swimming during this fun aquatic class for ages 6+!!! Sign ups also on Wednesday at 0700!

Summer time is so very hard in a military life... so many folks coming and going. Thank you to my swimmers who are PCSing or just moving on because you are a superstar swimmer! These amazing gifts were from my sweet swimmer Molly!!! Summer lessons with Miss Kate start July 10th! See you in a few weeks!

For some reason (perhaps some sort of update) I have had several no shows this week due to the reminder email being sent to the wrong folder. Please note when you have lessons!!! If you do not show up I will have to collect a sticker for the missed lesson.

Hey swimmers! Reminder that there are only a few days left to reserve your regular spots for Miss Kate's summer lessons! Weekly daytime spots are still open at various times Monday-Thursday. Please email or PM if you would like a spot, or if you requested a spot and never got a confirmation email from Simply Book.

Starting June 10th the summer slots (Starting July 10th) will start to open one day at a time. I will be out of town and there are no lessons from June 17 - July 9.

It's group swim lessons sign up day for the first session of SUMMER!!!! Lessons are held on main base AND Ikego! Remember to check into your MyFFR account at noon today to get your pick of lessons. I will NOT be teaching group lessons this summer... it's a bunch of college kids who come in and do a great job! Lessons are 5 days a week for 2 weeks at a time, so PERFECT for little littles and bigs who need something to do to get out of the house. My kids love it! If you have a question as to what level to sign up for, please PM me!

Parents and swimmers!!!! Please note that the CNIC rules for pools Navy wide are now being STRICTLY enforced. Kids CAN NOT be in the pool without an adult unless they have passed the swim test. Adult = 18+. Gone are the days of dry parents on the side while kids play in the shallow end. Please, let's work together to get every kid on base past the swim test!! 😂

LOOK!!! It's time to register for Summer Swim Team! This is a fabulous program for anyone who has a swim license and is going to be sticking around in late June and all of July!!! Kids will have practice for one hour twice a week and there will be 4 meets in July, 2 on main base and 2 at Ikego. There are 2 teams (one main base, one Ikego) with about 30 members each. Swimmers get a team swim suit and a cap and are picked via lottery. There are no disqualifications during the meets and everyone gets a medal at the end of the season. My daughter absolutely loved it last year. Hope some of Miss Kate's Superstars consider this program!!!

REGISTRATION DAY!!! If you are doing GROUP lessons in April (Start March 27 through April 26, no lessons April 3-7) please register online TODAY AT NOON! I will NOT be at the first lesson, but I promise I am teaching the highlighted classes!!!

PLEASE NOTE: Group lesson registration will now be online! No more lottery. First come, first served. PLEASE make sure your MyFFR account is up to date prior to registration at 1200 SUNDAY MARCH 19th!!! This is same site as ITT trips and movie tickets... but check it out ahead of time. If you need a login and password go to Purdy front desk before March 19. They are not open on Sundays. IF YOU HAVE A KID WHO SWIMS ABOVE THEIR AGE LEVEL (i.e. 5 year old in Level 3) please meet with Aquatics Director Marcella Cisneros before registration!!! She will need to put a waiver on your account.
