The Kenya Coast Tourism Convention and KCTA AGM will be happening on 31st October 2023 at Ocean Beach Resort Malindi.
The Convention will bring together tourism stakeholders from the Coast from private sector, National Government, Departments, Six Coast Counties under JKP, to deliberate on industry issuees, synergies and develop a unified strategic approach in rekindling and revamping tourism in the region .

The Roundtable under the theme " Leveraging on Collaboration and Dialogue to Unlock economic opportunities for the youth and sustainable business environment for Mombasa Community" provides a platform for Dialogue, partnerships and focused approach to issues with a purpose of strengthening County economy and cohesion

As tourism stakeholders, we had a fruitful roundtable engagement with Mombasa County Gubernatorial candidate who is also the current Mvita member of Parliament Hon.Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir and his running mate Hon. Francis Thoya where they took us through their manifesto and their plans for the industry. We also presented to them a memorandum on industry issues we want the incoming County Government to put in place towards revitalising the tourism industry and Mombasa economy. We will be engaging Gubernatorial candidates in the Coast region and presenting to them the industry agenda.

KCTA board together with other Coastal associations heads from KAHC , KATA , KATO , SKAL today started the process of engaging Airlines for more direct flights to Mombasa and later held a press conference to call for open sky policy . It is through open skies to Mombasa that we are able to increase tourists traffic in the region hence a vibrant economy and more jobs.
We shall also be engaging Gubernatorial candidates in the Coast Counties to share with them key industry concern as well as evaluate their blueprints.

KCTA and Mombasa County Government Department of Tourism Trade and Investment today signed an MOU to run "Beach Operators Training & Livehoods program" targeting 600 beach operators in Mombasa from Flamingo, serena, Bamburi, Nyali to English point. The program will entail training of beach operators aimed at reducing harassment of tourist at the beach, building relationship with stakeholders,improving beach operators livelihoods and rekindling visitors experience. We later officially launched the program.This is a great step towards revival of tourism in mombasa county.

Covid-19 pandemic greatly affected the human resource aspect of the Tourism and hospitality industry forcing many organizations to undertake human resource restructuring and down sizing. This therefore calls for structured industrial dispute resolution mechanism .
