When posting videos of animals feeding or hunting especially the cats - we tend to get hate comments about how cruel we are and how we should help the herbivore.. we also get told that weβre not giving the animals space, and how as travel agents we have no respect for the wildlife..
Iβm here to tell the other side of the story..
1. sometimes, we get lucky and itβs happening close to the marked road
2. when we get photographer groups-there is a special off-road licence that one purchases from the county government so that they are able to access the roads that are not accessible to the public
3. Please try to understand that if we were to come out of the vehicle(which is already an illegal act) to help a zebra when itβs getting eaten by a lion or cheetah-we will be eaten instead ππ and that cat will then be tagged as a man eating cat and be hunted & most likely put down - wouldnβt you rather just let them eat the zebra??
4. Yes I do agree that sometimes tour drivers do not give animals space, but this is usually when there is a very rare occurrence for example finding a rhinoceros in the maasai mara natural reserve- what you need to know is that the national reserves and parks have rangers monitoring the situation at almost all times and they are in the vicinity to ensure that the animals are secure
5.please explain to us, how to give an animal space when it comes to sleep/sit by our tyres or jump on our vehicles? Do we tell them please donβt sit here the public will complain that you need your space? ππ
I do agree that there are some who donβt follow rules and I am not making excuses for them, Iβm simply stating that not all 5 fingers are the same ππ
