📍Blue Grotto - Capri, Italy

The Grotta Azzura (Blue Grotto) an island sea cave filled with enchantment and mystery located just off the coast of Capri in sunny Italy!

The grotto is more than simply an empty rock face; its stunning bright blue waters have made it one of Southern Italy's most popular natural attractions.

The Blue Grotto is only accessible by rowboat. The cave is lit up by the sunlight passing through a hole under the cave that give it its dazzling blue glow. The grotto May give the appearance of a typical dark cave, but when you enter through the small opening in the protruding rocks, you'll be amazed by its blue brilliance.

It was first used as a personal personal swimming hole for Emperor Tiberius’. The cave was embellished with several statues, with built-in resting areas around the cave walls.The decoration was dedicated to sea nymphs, Greek mythological creatures who were said to entice sailors to the rocky outcroppings where the other nymphs dwell.

It is fascinating to think this same cave, was also enjoyed over 2,000 years ago by Roman emperors.

Like something out of a dream the Blue Grotto is definitely not a site to be missed!

World penguin day 🐧

World Penguin Day is celebrated every year on the 25th April as a way of honoring one of our planets most unique birds. The day raises awareness of the threat these beautiful creatures are under.

Penguins live almost exclusively below the equator. You may find some island penguins in warmer climates, but most reside in and around icy Antarctica.

Their thick layer of blubber and tightly-packed, oily feathers are ideal for colder temperatures. While penguins can’t fly, their stiff flippers, webbed feet, and sleek shape make them expert swimmers.

INTERNATIONAL RED PANDA DAY

The Red Panda (Ailurus fulgens) a beautiful curious creature that is a relative of the giant panda, and also of the raccoon, with which it shares a ringed tail. Currently, red pandas are considered members of their own unique family—the Ailuridae.

Red pandas are an at-risk species, victims of deforestation. Their natural space and habitat is shrinking as more and more forests are destroyed by logging and the spread of agriculture.

Living in the mountains of Nepal and northern Myanmar (Burma), as well as in central China, these animals spend most of their lives in trees and even sleep aloft. When foraging, they are most active at night as well as in the gloaming hours of dusk and dawn.

We all need to do our part to preserve the future of these special animals!
