This was a very special hike to Knuckles peak in the Knuckles range.
We were able to spot and capture Eurasian Sparrowhawk - very rare vagrant to Sri Lanka on this tour.

Apart from that hike was completed by one of the strongest Sri Lankan Lady - 71 years old and gent age of 73 years old with a Spanish couple.

Off season hike to Adams Peak via Peak Wilderness Sanctuary!!!!

The Peak Wilderness is a protected area complex which is located southern part of Central Highland mountains of Sri Lanka.

It is bordered by plantations owned by the government and private owners from the north, west and south. The eastern boundary remains a link to Piduruthalagala mountain region and Horton Plains National Park. As a tropical rainforest that spreads over 224 sqkm surrounding Sri Padaya with contours varying from 304m to 2243 masl, this is unusual geographical/ forest formations in comparison to other nature reserves in the country. It is the origin point for the Kelani, Kalu and Walawe rivers and is notable for its many waterfalls situated in the wet zone, complex receives an annual average rainfall of approximately 4000-5000 mm and has a temperature ranging from 15C -22C. Bena Samanala (2010 m), Maha Pidurutalawa (1930m), Heen Pidurutalawa (1502m) and Detanagala twin peaks (1829m) and (1783m) are some of the taller mountains in Peak Wilderness Sanctuary...

Jodu Ella falls Height – 45 Meters The twin falls of Jodu Ella Falls , also known as ‘Bambarella Knuckles falls’, have identical heights (45m) and cascade simultaneously from both ends of the mountain into the Mahaweli River via the Hulu Ganga River. The Moragaha River is the source, which springs from Me Malai, part of the Knuckles mountain range.
