The second annual Thandaung Gyi Mountain Run was successfully held on the 23rd of February 2019. We are so astoundingly proud to announce the results of the TDGMR 2019. There were 65 runners who took part from 12 countries including Myanmar.

We heartily acknowledge the support and sponsorship gifts from Hanns Seidel Foundation, PeaceNexus, Amazing Grace Souvenirs Shop and Universal Fitness Club.

A big congrats to Nigel Klein for his second year of the King of the Mountain and Masako Nakamura for the new Queen of the Mountain for 2019 and all the runners/walkers as well. We do appreciate you all for your active participation.

23 km Male:

1st Place : Nigel Klein (Australian) - 2:12:57
2nd Place: Markus Buerli (Swiss) - 2:18:10
3rd Place: Kyaw Thu Han (Myanmar) - 2:29:00

23 km Female:

1st Place: Masako Nakamura (Japanese) - 2:21:06
2nd Place: Thae Thae Khaing (Myanmar) - 2:30:00
3rd Place: Jessie Goldie (Australian) - 2:34:00

With the collaboration and cooperation of Thandaung Gyi Tourism Development and Working Group, Hanns Seidel Foundation Myanmar, Myanmar Responsible Tourism Institute, and PeaceNexus, TDGMR 2019 was a huge success. We had more national runners than the last year. The runners came and participated from Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw, Rakkine, also from Thandaung Gyi and its vicinity. This was the very first experience for the host community members taking part in this kind of international running event.

Our special thanks goes to Ishwar Persad (Co-founder of Thandaung Gyi Mountain Run) for his wonderful support since last year. Also our sincere thanks goes to the organizer team and the host community from Thandaung Gyi.

A very satisfactorily successful first ever Ngwe Saung Beach Run held !!

Total 88 participants (ruuners) from 6 nationalities including mostly Myanmar local runners.

21 km - 48 runners
10 km - 4 runners
5 km - 36 runners
Total - 88 runners

21 km winners!

1st - Thaung Aye (Myanmar)
- Bib Number 029
- 1 hour 21 minutes 45 seconds

2nd - Ben Rowse (Australian)
- Bib Number 015
- 1 hour 27 minutes 58 seconds

3rd - Tim Davies (British)
- Bib Number 014
- 1 hour 28 minutes 54 seconds

The uniqueness of this very first beach run is that there were more local runners than international ones. The involvement of the community was really great and astounding.
The community folks were very excited to have taken part in this big event for the first time in their life and it portrayed inclusive tourism and community involvement.

The beach run was held for the very first time and the community was extremely thrilled to participate again in the future.

Huge congrats to all the runners for finishing well !!
The credits go to the organizer team, all local villagers from Thazin Village with the support from iGreen Developer and I.M.S Travel & Tours for organizing the run to be a success to the fullest!

Updated Announcement !

For those who want to join Ngwe Saung Beach Run buying all inclusive package and cannot take the early morning bus at 6 a.m leaving Yangon on the 2nd of November 2018, the transport will be arranged for them after work in the evening on the same day.
The bus will leave Mahamyeing Pyay Road, Sanchaung at 7 p.m sharp.

Please note that registration deadline is 15th October 2018.
