Experience the thrill of jungle style dune buggy riding, visit the historical town of El Cedral, check out Punta Sur eco-park, and then relax and enjoy a guided snorkel at an exclusive beach club. Did we miss anything? Yes, there will be a bit of tequila tasting too! Your day begins when you hop on a ferry in Playa del Carmen. Then sit back and enjoy 40 minutes of spectacular views with ocean breezes on your face, or below in an air conditioned cabin. For your comfort, the ferry has facilities and serves drinks and snacks. Consumables are not included in the price. Once you reach the island, it is just a short 5 minute walk to the meeting point. Your friendly, English speaking guide will take you to the dune buggy beach location. Upon arrival, you will be matched to the 2 or 4-seater dune buggy. Please note, you are welcome to purchase the extra seats if you don't want others joining you in your buggy. Please check the pricing guide. Each driver will need to present a valid driver's license. The guides will show you to your buggy, go over the basics of driving in Cozumel and then you are ready to start your adventure. Note that the buggies are manual transmission so guests must be able to drive stick shift. There are no automatic transmission buggies. Then you're off to the historical town of El Cedral with your guide leading the way. That is where you'll have the opportunity to see how the locals live away from the main city of San Miguel. Cedral was the first settlement location on the island and has a small Mayan ruin next to the first Catholic church built. You will also be given the opportunity to do a bit of tequila tasting. Next you'll head out to Punta Sur, which is a gorgeous eco-park located on the southern tip of the island. You will stop at the more interesting sites inside such as the lighthouse, which offers a wonderful view of the island, the small museum for a bit of info, and the fresh water Colombia Lagoon where you might well spot one of the famous large crocodile, or two. You won't want to forget your camera. Then follow your guide along the scenic eastside road to where the pavement ends and the sandy driving begins! No worries about getting stuck, your guides will be there to assist. Follow down the sandy road about 20 minutes in and another 20 minutes back. The off road driving is not over yet! You will then finish your buggy adventure at a gravel pit for some wild fun. Be ready to get dusty, dirty and maybe muddy wet! Your guide will then lead you back to Playa Uvas. You've seen the natural beauty of Cozumel from above, now it is time for a guided snorkel tour over the second largest reef in the world. Playa Uvas is located along a protected marine park so there is a lot of marine life to see below the water. All necessary equipment is included, so you don't need to worry about a thing. Your guide will pass out your gear, show you how to use it and then lead you into the water. You might want to bring a waterproof camera to record the immense amount of colorful tropical fish, coral and sponges. Once the guided snorkel is complete (approximately 35 minutes), you will head back to the beach club. At this point you will be served a lunch with your choice of fajitas and sides, accompanied by two non-alcoholic drinks. After, you can choose to stay at Playa Uvas and continue to enjoy all the amenities such as lounge chairs, restaurant and fully stocked bar for additional purchases, facilities and shaded areas. When you are ready, you can just take a taxi back to the ferry dock at your leisure and expense, or leave a bit sooner and explore more of the island before heading back to Playa del Carmen. Note that the order of stops and activities may vary.
