SymLife’s new SSC 2023/2024 committee kick started their very first event with a gathering session to celebrate the birthday babies of April to June. During the celebration, birthday babies were asked to cut a cake together and gifted with chocolates. The celebration then continued with a luncheon session as employees bonded over lunch. Birthdays are special occasions that foster a sense of joy, celebration and togetherness and precisely the reason why the new SSC term was started off with this celebration. The gathering served as an opportunity to create a healthy and inclusive environment, cultivating a positive work culture.

Rumah Kasih Nurul Hasanah, a charity home, cares for approximately 30 children which are largely from lower income families. In order to sustain the operation costs of the home, they have ventured into a new business producing cooked and frozen curry puffs to supplement their income, utilising old machineries which was unable to meet the demand of their business.

SymLife, through its CSR arm, contributed RM13,400 for the purchase of a new dough sheeter and a potato peeler to assist Rumah Hasanah with their curry puffs production. With these new machines, they are now able to produce about two times more than what they used to produce.

The Malaysian Foundation for the Blinds (MFB) is another charity organisation which SymLife has been supporting for a while now.

Through MFB’s Tabung Bantuan Pakaian dan Peralatan Persekolahan charity event, SymLife recently donated a Back to School package amounting to RM15,000, which includes necessities such as uniforms, shoes, school bags, stationeries, etc for 50 students. Additionally, another 50 units of school bags were donated to meet the needs of the students.

Though the school term started in March, there were still a number of students who did not receive these necessities and therefore, SymLife took this opportunity to help the students and hope that this small gesture will meet their needs and benefit the students.

Celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a joyous event, marking the end of the holy month and being able to celebrate it with family members and coworkers makes for double the joy!

In a turn of events, for the first time, employees at SymLife celebrated Hari Raya with coworkers along with their family members. It was a spectacular sight where employees’ family members were seen gleefully mingling with one another while enjoying an array of delectable Malay cuisine.

To further spice up the event, an impromptu best dressed competition was carried out where one best dressed male and one best dressed female among employees’ family members were selected as winners. Children were not left out as one best dressed female child and one best dressed male child were selected from the mass. The winners were given cash prizes. To keep the children engaged, several exciting games were organised while the adults started grooving to our entertainer, Bella’s, captivating vocal performance.

This gathering was certainly a memorable one not only for our employees but their family members too!

As a part of SymLife's continuous support to Hospis Malaysia, which dates back to 2015, we recently sponsored in-kind items for their signature fundraising event, the 23rd Annual Charity Motor Treasure Hunt 2024, which took place this month in conjunction with Palliative Care Awareness Month. Though a modest contribution, we hope that it has helped in the success of the Treasure Hunt event.

SymLife, as part of its CSR initiative, celebrated Ramadan this year by collaborating with MLabs, our sister company to distribute 250 sets of burgers to the homeless within Kuala Lumpur, particularly around Chow Kit area.

A total of 13 employees with at least 1 from each department participated in this noble cause and was well received as it served as a great platform to further boost their morale during this holy month while also fostering a strong sense of community.

Stepping into the next level of our ESG journey, SymLife recently held an introductory phase of ESG KPI and target setting workshop which will be gradually integrated into the Group's overall scorecard. This will enable SymLife to align our business practices with sustainable and responsible principles.

The workshop was attended by SymLife’s top & middle management who brainstormed to identify the most appropriate and attainable targets for the company. Our Group CEO, Mr. Chin also participated in the workshop, giving his input and feedbacks throughout the session. We are delighted and excited as we take another step forward towards a sustainable future.

In honour of the holy month of Ramadan, SymLife's management distributed boxes of dates to all employees observing the fasting month.

For Muslims around the world, the daily practice of breaking fast takes on great significance during the holy month of Ramadan and dates have always been an important essence to break a fast, symbolising a custom with roots in religious tradition. Dates are also known for its nutritional advantages that make them an ideal choice for naturally replenishing energy after a long day of fasting.

Once again, we take this opportunity to wish all Muslims "Selamat Berpuasa" and hope that this month is full of blessings, joy, and peace.

The Star Residences, KLCC, a luxurious joint-venture project by SymLife, has won yet another prestigious award, The Malaysia Property Awards 2023 under Mixed-Use Development category by FIABCI-Malaysia.

A crucial element of any commercial building is fire safety. A small mishap can turn into a major catastrophe if proper and operational fire safety equipment is not available. Furthermore, a fire certificate is a valuable asset for any company, and SymLife is no different when it comes to workplace safety.

We are happy to have fulfilled the requirements of BOMBA, one of the toughest inspections, for both of our locations at Menara Symphony and Langkawi Fair Mall which was conducted earlier this week. At SymLife, we take great pride in ensuring that our buildings adhere to all applicable fire safety regulations, protecting both our tenants and customers.

It was a blast celebrating the year of the Wood Dragon. While lion dance is a must in welcoming the new year, this year we also had a dragon dance whereby, in Chinese culture, the lion symbolises strength, stability and superiority, whilst the dragon represents power, boldness and excellence. The dance performance was then followed by a Yee Sang and lunch session hosted by SymLife’s Sports Club. Not to mention, each one of the employees also received an ‘angpao’ signifying good luck.

As part of our CSR efforts, SymLife’s Safety and Health Committee kick started its first activity of the year with a noble cause, Blood Drive, an annual event for the company. Collaborating with Pusat Darah Negara, a total of 41 bags of blood were collected this year while many other donors who came forward to donate were declined due to various reasons.

At SymLife, we strongly believe that hosting a Blood Drive at workplace is a valuable way to give back to the community as it significantly impacts the lives of others while fostering unity and compassion among colleagues. Blood Drives are also crucial in maintaining an adequate and safe blood supply for hospitals especially during festive seasons where there is usually a scarcity of blood in the blood banks.
