Flight Resumption Post Labour Strike

We are pleased to announce that Ibom Air will resume flight operations today to begin catching up on the backlog.

However, we will only operate flights from Lagos to Accra and back, Lagos to Abuja and back, Lagos to Uyo and back and Uyo to Abuja and back, today. Our normal schedule will resume tomorrow.

Please kindly note the following:

We understand that there will be more passengers wanting to travel than we can immediately accommodate. We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation as we work diligently to get you to your destinations as quickly and safely as possible.

We will make changes to travel dates and times at no extra charge for those who require them.

We anticipate a high volume of phone calls, which may make it challenging for all callers to reach us. Please rest assured that we are addressing as many calls as possible. We encourage you to use our email at [email protected], where we will double our efforts to respond promptly.

We want to assure you once again that we are fully committed to addressing the current gaps evolving from the strike action. Your travel needs are our top priority, and we will do our utmost to meet them.

Flights Disruption Due to Nationwide Labour Strike

Ibom Air regrets to inform our esteemed passengers that, due to the ongoing nationwide labour strike, we are unable to dispatch any of our scheduled flights to your various destinations.

The safety and well-being of our passengers and staff remain our highest priority. Consequently, our flight operations have been suspended until further notice. We regret the inconvenience we know this situation has caused and sincerely apologize.

Please be assured that we are fully committed to resuming normal operations once the strike is called off.

IBOM AIR MARKS 2024 WORLD MALARIA DAY, LAUNCHES SIGNATURE CSR PROJECT - ‘FAM-pact’

Ibom Air commemorates 2024 World Malaria Day by launching its signature CSR project, FAM-pact (Fight Against Malaria in Pregnant Women and Children Today). This initiative underscores Ibom Air's dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves by addressing the urgent issue of malaria among pregnant women and children under the age of five.

FAM-pact is designed to significantly decrease malaria prevalence in these vulnerable groups through a range of strategic interventions, including awareness campaigns, distribution of insecticide-treated nets, provision of malaria medications, and community outreach programs. As part of its launch, Ibom Air has donated insecticide-treated nets, essential malaria medications, and educational materials to the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, directly benefiting communities across the state.

To further amplify awareness and garner support, Ibom Air invites the public to participate in a solidarity walk against malaria on April 27th at 6 am, starting from the symbolic Globe at Wellington Bassey Way Uyo. This walk symbolizes unity and determination in the fight against malaria.

According to the Group Manager for Corporate Services, Mrs. Imelda Aba, “Ibom Air’s CSR thrust is centered around health education and community development. Under the health initiative, we have had the opportunity to partner with organizations that take special care of infants and children’s needs and have facilitated much-needed intervention for children undergoing corrective heart surgery, amongst others. This year, we decided to launch a flagship disease prevention initiative, ‘FAM-pact, ' which strongly collaborates with other stakeholders to care for the vulnerable and significantly reduce the ills of malaria in our society.”

Ibom Air thanks the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health, National End Malaria Council, PMI-S, Break-Through Action, Medical Women’s Association (Akwa Ibom State Chapter), Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria, office of the First Lady and GIFA, Feyrep, University of Uyo Medical Student Association, and other stakeholders. It encourages individuals, organizations, and communities to join the FAM-pact initiative and contribute to the fight against malaria. Together, we can create a healthier and more prosperous future for all.

DELAY DUE TO TECH

This morning, on our 7 am flight from Lagos to Abuja, while the aircraft was pushing back from the gate, under the supervision of the monitoring engineer, he noticed an issue with the nose gear. The engineer, who wore a headset to communicate with the pilots, promptly drew the attention of the pilot in command to his observation. The decision was made to inspect the nose, and passengers had to be disembarked. This is a routine practice in the industry. The supervising engineers remain vigilant in inspecting an aircraft until it departs.

While the aircraft has since been taken to the hangar to have the problem fixed, we regret the delay in delivering our usual service to our valued passengers. We will always take precautions and prioritize the safety of our passengers.
