Our products are in very good or excellent condition, if not mentioned otherwise. Any exception, damage or malfunctions will be mentioned in the article description. Every piece in the collection is an original period piece and all items are carefully

selected to ensure originality and quality. The website contains just a small part of our collection. PIET MONDRIAAN

Vandaag is het 144 jaar geleden dat Piet Mondriaan (1872-1944) werd geboren. Hoewel Mondriaan bekend is om zijn abstracte, geometrische schilderijen in primaire kleuren, wordt zijn vroege oeuvre gekenmerkt door een aantal figuratieve stukken.

Deze ijle aquarel van een chrysant toont het grafisch oog van Mondriaan. In plaats van vloeiende lijnen gebruikt hij hoekige contouren om de bloemblaadjes uit te beelden. De bloem is gestileerd in een vrijwel monochroom waterig blauw palet. Dit zorgt er voor dat de aandacht niet alleen uitgaat naar de figuratie van de voorstelling, maar ook naar artistieke beeldelementen zoals kleurgebruik, lijnvoering en compositie.

Wanneer Mondriaan bloemen schilderde, koos hij er vaak voor om een enkeling af te beelden. Hierdoor ligt de nadruk op de structuur van de chrysant.

Height : around 60cm unfolded, 40cm folded. Diameter : 4,5cm
With a special bulb, Cornalux type included.
A thrilling sculptural light which evokes a periscope designed by Aroldi brothers in 1966 for the famous italian editor Stilnovo.

This lamp belonged to the mythic MOMA 1972 exhibition : « Italy : The New Domestic Landscape. »

Metal enameled red tube with normal marks of use. Rubber joint is used but the light works perfectly. A good condition for this rare original edition with design special bulb included.

Zappia Paradiso espresso maker

Recently someone found this vintage espresso maker in our shop. Zappia is a Swiss company that made a nice range of vacuum pots with a awesome Art Deco design. This is one of the smaller models and makes two cups. The larger can be found in design musea all over the world.
