🏖Looking for a beach holiday without scorching temperatures?
Nearby Ålesund you can find stunning beaches. Some of them are to be found by the fjord, and others far out on the treshold of the Atlantic ocean.
🏄‍♀️Here you can just relax, go for a walk or a hike in the nearby mountains or jump into the water! You can even go surfing here!
🩱The sea temperatures in July and August can vary between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius. Refreshing but not very cold.

📌Here are some suggestions for nice beaches in the region of Sunnmøre:

Blimsanden in Vigra
Giskesanden in Giske

🐟Have you ever wanted to jump in the sea and float with the waves? Or swim among fish? Thought of what it is like to be really close to the marine life? Wondering how sea w**d tastes like? This is your chance!

🧞‍♂️On the island of Runde south of Ålesund you can experience coasteering with nature guides from Opplev Runde who will take you safely around.

🧞‍♀️Coasteering is a combination of being on the shore and moving in the water. You'll swim, walk, climb, and float. It is a wonderful way to see the coastal zone, with seaw**d swaying in the water and experience marine life you rarely get to see from the beach. Slinningsbålet 2024❤️‍🔥

This year’s midsummer celebration was incredible! The Slinning Bonfire reached 35 meters high🔥 Built by hand by an amazing team of locals - it is now a cherished tradition, and the building of the wooden tower started months ago.

Midsummer night is always a special event for the people of Ålesund, and many come from far away to see it. It’s a magical night✨🌞🚤🔥💜

Every summer, since 1740, the family Opdøl have moved their animals to the summer farm Renndølsetra in beautiful Innerdalen ⛰

👉 The 2024 season opens on Friday, June 21. The café is open from 12:00 - 16:30 every day of the season.
💤 Sleep well in cozy rooms inside the setra, or pitch a tent or hammock at the campsite by the lake
☕ In the mountain farm café they serve drinks, mountain farm products, waffles and simple food. Perfect if you only have time for a day trip.

📣UPDATE: You can still see the bends of Trollstigen from the Trollstigen plateau and view Trollstigen from above or from the parking at Trollstigfoten in Isterdalen.

👉 The Trollstigen road from Valldal to the Trollstigen plateau is OPEN. View the hairpin bends from above at the Trollstigen plateau on the Valldal side.
👉 View Trollstigen from below from Trollstigfoten. Trollstigen Gjestegård in Isterdalen remain open

📌 Due to increased risk of rockfall, unfortunately, the distinctive bends in Trollstigen are closed to both vehicular traffic, cyclists, and pedestrians for the remainder of the 2024 season. The closed section is between Isterdalen in Rauma/Åndalsnes and the bends leading up to the Trollstigen plateau. Please park only in designated areas.

We are happy to announce that Trollstigen is opening tomorrow June 7th 10 AM.

🚗 Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger-Trollstigen between Åndalsnes and the adventure valley Valldal is one of Norways leading tourist attractions. The dramatic Trollstigen winds its way up the steep mountain side through 11 hairpin bends, and can take anyone's breath away.

📌 Note. Due to the situation with rockfall there will be several risk-reducing measures such as traffic routing in one direction at a time. The road can also close at short notice if there is high risk of rock slides.
