TREKKING IN NEPAL
Nepal is the ultimate destination for trekkers from all over the world. This bustle is so admired that one in every five visitors to this country comes solely for the purpose of trekking. Nepal is not a large country in terms of geographical area, yet huge contrasts in altitudes and climates as you move from south to north support an amazing mix of lifestyles, flora and fauna. Although it is Nepal's scenic beauty that lures multitude of visitors, people of different cultures that you come across on the way are what make the experience quite memorable.
You can go trekking any time of the year though the popular seasons are spring (February-May) and autumn (September-November). Winter is very cold above 4000 M because of snow on the high mountain passes. So keep yourself at lower altitudes. During the Monsoon season (June-August), you can trek in the rain shadow areas north of the Himalayas like Mustang, Manang and Dolpa where the rain clouds cannot reach them. The best part about trekking in this season is that the routes are less crowded, and the meadows are green and in full blossom.
WORLD HERITAGE SITES OF NEPAL
There are four UNESCO World Heritage Sites (WHS) in Nepal. Of these four WHS, two are in the cultural category and two WHS fall in the natural category.
In the cultural category, the seven monuments of the Kathmandu valley (together counted as one WHS) and Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha are included whereas the other two WHS in the natural grouping are the Chitawan National Park and Sagarmatha National Park. The Kathmandu Valley WHS comprises three historical palaces of Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square, two Buddhist stupas Swayambhu and Boudanath, and, two Hindu temples Pashupati and Changu Narayan. The densest concentration of these heritages sites can be found here owing to the cultural and political importance of the Kathmandu valley. All these monuments were designated as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in October 1979 AD Most of the places listed in the WHS were revered for thousands of years and there has been a series of contributions and renovations in the form of construction of temples stupas and palaces over the centuries by different rulers and kings. The WHS of Nepal are an expression of the finest sensibility of the history and lifestyle of Nepal and are a legacy of the Nepalese people to human civilization.

MANASALU CIRCUIT NEPAL:
Manaslu also known as Kutang is the eighth highest mountain in the world at 8,163 meters above sea level. It is located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, which means "mountain of the spirit". Manaslu was first climbed on May 9, 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of Japanese expedition. The mountain's long ridges and valley glaciers offer feasible approaches from all directions, and culminate in a peak that towers steeply above its surrounding landscape, and is a dominant feature when viewed from afar. The Manaslu region offers a variety of trekking options. Manaslu Circuit is one of the classic treks in Nepal around Manaslu, The popular trekking route of 177 km, skirts the Manaslu massif over the pass down to Annapurna. The Nepalese Government only permitted trekking of this circuit in 1991 with Restricted Area Permit and that trekkers travel in a group of two with a registered guide. In route, 10 peaks over 6,500 meters are visible, including a few over 7,000 meters. The highest point reached along the trek route is the Larkya La at an elevation of 5,106 meters. As of May 2008, the mountain has been climbed 297 times with 53 fatalities. This trek would appeal to anyone who is looking for a challenging trek in a remote region of the Nepal Himalaya. The trail passes through a geographically spectacular and culturally fascinating area with scenery similar to the classic Annapurna Circuit although the trails are not as popular with trekking groups. The trek starts at the town of Arughat passing through bamboo forests and Gurung villages in the narrow Budi Gandaki gorge. After Lho village we enter the Nupri region inhabited by Tibetan immigrants where you will see colourful prayer flags, mani walls and monasteries along the way. After Samdo village we start the approach towards the Larkya La pass, crossing this high Himalayan pass is a challenging day although would be a good objective for a fit hill walker wi
Dear Bird Lovers!
Take your natural experience in Nepal to a whole new level by going bird watching in Nepal. The country and specially the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve in the eastern Terai is a bird watcher’s paradise. More than 850 species of birds are found in Nepal, and a surprisingly a large number of these birds can be spotted in The Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve which is a protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering 175 km2 of wetlands. It comprises extensive mudflats, reed beds, and freshwater marshes in the floodplain of the Sapta Kosi River, and ranges in altitude from 75 to 81 m. It was established in 1976 and designated as a Ramsar site in December 1987.
Notable among the 485 bird species are watercock, Indian nightjar, dusky eagleowl, black-headed cuckooshrike, whitetailed stonechat, striated grassbird, large adjutant stork, Pallas’s fish eagle, common golden-eye, and gullbilled tern. Swamp francolin and rufous-vented grass babbler occur as well. In spring 2011, 17 Bengal floricans were recorded from nine different sites along a 39 km north-south stretch of the Koshi River. Seven were males and 10 were females. Only five individuals were recorded outside the reserve, two pairs north of Koshi Tappu, and one female seen twice near the Koshi Barrage area.
