Happy New Year 2081 & Biska Jatra!

In the frame, you see the celebration of Biska Jatra in , one of the biggest festivals celebrated by the Newar ethnic group. Unlike other Neplease festivals, Biska Jatra is based on the solar calendar instead of the lunar calendar, marking the Nepali New Year. The lasts for 9 days, and hence also known as Chyacha Gunhuya Jatra.

Taleju Temple, a sacred Hindu shrine in heart of city, is a stunning example of Newari architecture. Dedicated to Goddess Taleju, it stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and spiritual significance of the region.
