There's a elegiac quality in watching wilderness go, because it's our own myth, the nepalese frontier, that's deteriorating before our eyes. I feel deep sorrow that our kids never get to see what we've seen, and their kids will see nothing; there's a deep sadness whenever I look at nature now.

Rishi Panchami is dedicated to honour all the sages and is considered an auspicious festival in the Hindu community.
It is dedicated to the 7 great sagas known as Saptarishi.

The festival is dedicated to the Saptarishis — namely Kashyapa, Atri, Bharadwaja, Vishvamitra, Gautama Maharishi, Jamadagni, and Vashishtha — who were created by Lord Brahma to teach the community. They passed enlightenment on to humanity so that it would pursue the road of truth, grasp the fundamental values of goodness and become enlightened. It is assumed that if a person follows quickly and conducts rituals on this day, he or she is forgiven of all the sins of the current or past existence. The festival is observed primarily by women, who practice a fast and conduct puja to pay homage to the seven great sages. Rishi Panchami is such an auspicious day that if the fast is observed and rituals
are performed, a person is relieved from all the sins of his or her present or past life.
Lord Brahma himself is the one who narrated the story of Rishi Panchami.
In the state of "Vidarbha", a Brahmin called Uttak used to live with his wife with whom he shared a son and a daughter.
Uttak married his daughter in a prosperous and reputed Brahmin family. But as time passed on, the girl's husband dies a premature death; and she becomes his widow, and on this basis, she returns to the house of her parents.
The widow's body was infested with worms/parasites over her entire body amid a beautiful day. The sorrow saddened them after finding her tainted body and brought her father
to Uttak Rishi to figure out what had happened to their daughter.
They become extremely worried and immediately called a sage so that he could mend the situation.
The Rishi (Tuktas Rishi) whom they called, was a learned sage, and he explained the reason behind the trouble.
He made them aware of the sin that their daughter committed in her previous life. The rishi further added that the girl had handled the utensils in her household even after during the menstruation period. Therefore she got the worms covering her entire body because of this unwittingly done sin.
The Rishi advised the daughter to perform certain rituals on the day of Rishi Panchami to purify her body and soul,
so that this way, she would relieved of the sin that she has committed. Following the instructions given by the sage, the daughter performed all the customs with absolute devotion. This set her soul free from the bad karma "Dosha'.
Therefore, this little yet powerful story becomes a platform that explains the significance of Rishi Panchami.
Rishi Panchami is the road to peace and sanctification of the soul, mind and the body.

The oriental dwarf kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca), also known as the black-backed kingfisher or three-toed kingfisher, is a pocket-sized bird. This tropical bird is a partial migrant that is endemic across much of the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia.
It generally dwells in lowland forests like in Terai (Koshi Tappu, Chitwan, Bardiya, Parsa etc.), typically near streams or ponds,
where it feeds upon insects, spiders, worms, crabs, fish, frogs, and lizards.
This small bird is easily distinguishable from other birds in its range due to its red bill, yellow-orange underparts, lilac-rufous upperparts, and blue-black back.

If you love nature and birdwatching, It's a best season to explore the unexplored home to sizeable populations of wildlife and birds.

Transfixed by the bright gaze of Marsh-mugger I become calm. This wooden propeller on which the Fungi lies was floating on the river when aquatic life first came into being, and now the flood is wearing it away, to return it once again into the oceans.

There is so much that enchants me in this spare, silent place that I move softly so as not to break a spell. And all about are the prayer stones, prayer flags and prayer wheels in the torrent, calling on all the elements in nature to join in celebration of the One. What I hear from my tent is a delicate wind-bell and the rivulet from the north, in this easterly wind that may bring a change in the weather.

In the frozen air, the whole mountain and glacial tarn is taut; the silence rings. The herd of sheep's flanks quake, and the wolves are panting; otherwise, all is still, as if the arrangement of pale shapes held the world together. Then I breathe, and the mountain breathes, setting the world in motion once again.

From sunrise to sundown I move with the stallion herd, which has been joined in recent days by band of wildhorses. The herd is up at the alpine pasture, to the eastward; this Badimalika summit must be close to 14,000 feet. Climbing, I traverse the winding slopes with my zigzag technique, stopping and stooping and otherwise signalling to the browsing Mustang that I am but harmless dung-seeker, like other Homo Sapiens of their acquaintance.
I reach a lookout knoll perhaps 150 yards away.
The wind on the ridge has a hard bite in it, and the lizards have withdrawn into the mother earth.

Birdwatching is one of the less strenuous activities for tourists visiting Nepal. 100 species of birds have been identified in the different wetland sites of Chitwan – the Raptor Watchtower at Sauraha, along river banks and forests, the inundated grasslands, and reed beds. Birdwatching can be done both on foot and by boat in shallow water. Several birdwatching organizations provide services assisted by trained naturalists.

Bravery doesn't even remotely describe! The mountain doesn't say you're black, you're white, you're weak or you're strong.
There's only one rule for everybody. If you give up... you die!

My respect for you grew even stronger after witnessing you conquering those 14 notoriously reputed monumental pyramids of stone, the edge of life and death.

You made it not only for you, you made it for entire Nepalese mountaineering community.
You're the living acumen of 'Nothing is Impossible'! You are a true warrior with a heart of Lion.

You have taught us, Sometimes the idea that you come up with may seem impossible to the rest of the world, but that doesn't really mean it's impossible to you.
You're the man, You crushed it!

This was a project not only for yourself but for Nepal, for the Sherpas, for mountaineering. You're the real inspiration, The Terminator!

You have all my due respect Brother!
This is the unique statement in the history of mountaineering.

Brahma Kamal (Saussuera obvallata)💚

A rare flower of Himalayan flower kingdom, It is a medicinal herb. This flower bloom after sunset at night and just once a year. And it takes 2 long hours to full bloom. This flower is treated as auspiscious wish fullfilling and sacred.
Believed that whoever prays to get any wish fullfilled while the flower is blooming will get the desire fullfilled.

The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs), 5-10 cm long and are pollinated by insects. Flowers bloom in mid-monsoon (July–August) amongst the rocks and grasses of the hillside at an altitudinal range of 3000–4800 m.

Extensively used for preparation of traditional ayrvedic medicines. The flowers, rhizomes and leafs are used for treatment of Bone-ache, intestinal ailments, cold-cough, urinary tract problems also used as antiseptic, cerebral injury and for healing the cuts and bruises.

According to Hindu Mythology, Brahma Kamal was created by lord Brahma to help lord Shiva place the head of an elephant on the body of lord Ganesha. The flower dropped 'Amrit' - A divine nectar, the elixir of life from its petals on the body.

It is also believed that on the revival of 'Lakshmana' using Sanjeevani Buti, the gods showered Brahma Kamal from heaven in celebration. Hence Brahma Kamal fell down to the earth and took roots in the valley of Hindu-Kush Himalayas. It is also a state flower of Uttarakhand, India.

Upon the path, in the glint of mica and odd shining stones, lies the yellow and grey black feather of an unlnown bird. And there comes a piercing intuition, by no means understood, that in this feather on the silver path, this rythm of wood and leather sounds, breath, sun and wind, and rush of the river, in a landscape without past or future time - in this instant, in all instants, transience and eternity, death and life are one.

We pray everything gets normal soon and we all can enjoy the Tourism sector once again with our families and loved ones.

HAPPY WORLD TOURISM DAY

Nepalese autumn poppy/ Himalayan poppy (Meconopsis autumnalis) is endemic to Annapurna Himalayas and Central Nepal.
For many decades Nepal has been a notoriously attractive region of the Himalayas from the perspective of the Alpine enthusiast. Although most of the recent and exciting discoveries concerning Meconopsis have come out of remote alpine meadows of Annapurna, Langtang and north west Nepal and the surrounding himalayan regions.
Nepal still offers much to in pursuit of these Himalayan poppies and vast areas, especially in far- western sub- alpine meadows, Nepal, still remain unexplored botanically.
