Pumdikot, a captivating hill station nestled near Pokhara in the Kaski District of Gandaki Province, Nepal, is a must-visit destination for tourists seeking both natural beauty and cultural significance. Positioned at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level, Pumdikot boasts a spectacular viewpoint offering breathtaking vistas of the Pokhara Valley, Fewa Lake, and the majestic Himalayas. One of its standout features is the second tallest Shiva statue in Nepal, standing at an impressive 51 feet. Resting upon a magnificent white stupa that contributes an additional 57 feet in height, the entire structure reaches a towering 108 feet. This iconic statue is part of an ongoing development project that envisions the creation of a Martyr’s Memorial Park and a symbolic representation of Mount Sumeru featuring Shiva and Parvati. The park aims to be inclusive, ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities. As of late 2021, the Shiva statue is complete, while the larger park project is approximately 50% finished. The statue premises also house 108 Shiva lingas encircling its base, adding to the spiritual ambiance. Pumdikot, with its harmonious blend of natural beauty and cultural significance, provides a unique and enriching experience for all visitors.
