How Long Does It Take To Climb Everest Mountain (8848.86m)? :

Well, climbing a high mountain is a long and gradual process, and it may vary on weather conditions and physical strength. And Mt. Everest is not an exception. In general, it takes around Eight to Ten days to reach Everest Base Camp after spending few days in Kathmandu. And at the Everest Base Camp, you’ll spend around six weeks on Training, Proper Acclimatization,.Rotation to the higher camps & Final Summit Push. One of the intentions of staying at Everest Base Camp for so long is getting used to cold weather, harsh environments, and being familiar with the mountain you are going to the summit. However, the Everest Climbing Itinerary may differ according to the weather conditions and climbers‘ adaptation to the environment and other issues. So, overall in general it takes 8 to 10 weeks (55days to 70 days) for the whole process of the Everest Expedition.

Royal Bhutan Army Lieutenant Jigme Pelden Dorje has become the first Bhutanese to summit the world’s highest mountain, Mt. Everest.

He reached the summit at 9:30 am today, accompanied by his guide Chakra Rai and the support team, according to the Pioneer Adventure Pvt Ltd who managed the expedition.

Jigme and his team had left Everest Base Camp for the higher elevations on May 16.

“Standing on the top of Everest fills me with immense pride as a Bhutanese. This climb is a tribute to my country, our monarch, and our enduring spirit of exploration,” Jigme shared after his successfull summit.

Pasang Sherpa, Chairman of Pioneer Adventure Pvt Ltd, expressed his pride, saying, “We are delighted to have been part of Jigme’s historic climb. Our guides are committed to ensuring the success and safety of every climber. Congratulations to Jigme for this extraordinary achievement.”

Seasoned runner Roland Hunter has set a new record for the fastest known time (FKT) from Lukla to Everest Base Camp.

Hunter, fresh off completing the Manjushree Trail Race, a challenging 100-mile race around the Kathmandu Valley, and acclimatizing in Lukla in March, embarked on this ambitious endeavor.

“I was inspired by Kirra Balmanno’s project in May 2023 of running from Lukla to Everest Base Camp,” Hunter revealed. “My motivation for this run was a personal curiosity and to also enjoy the time moving fast in the mountains. I knew the Fastest Known Time (FKT) was 11 hours and 1 minute. I thought going faster was possible but that would only be the icing on the cake,” Hunter later said in his social media post.

Having decided, Hunter departed from Lukla at 4:21 am on May 13, amidst pouring rain. He encountered various challenges along the way, including inclement weather and delays caused by a line of horses crossing the Hillary Bridge.

Despite these obstacles, Hunter reached Namche Bazaar in just three hours. “The trail was a bit slippery (chiplo bhato), but living in Dartmoor National Park, I am accustomed to rain and mud, so I felt at home,” he commented.

Hunter also received invaluable support from Ang Chhutin, who provided aid akin to an official race station at Pheriche. “Ang Chhutin is a runner too and won the Everest marathon in 2014.”

He arrived at Everest Base Camp at 2:44 pm, setting a new FKT in the process by completing the journey in an astonishing time of 10 hours and 23 minutes.

Upon his return to Lukla, Hunter received a warm welcome from Mingma Sherpa, Chairman of Pasang Lamu Rural Municipality, and Ang Phurba, an elected local government member.
