From 12 August 2024, New Zealand will transition Transit Visa applications to an online platform, streamlining the process for international travellers. This change is designed to make the application process more efficient, eliminating the need for paper applications and the associated Visa Application Centre fees.

Update for Fijian Travelers: From 4 September 2024, Fijian nationals transiting through Auckland International Airport can use an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) instead of a Transit Visa. The NZeTA costs just $17 via the mobile app or $23 online and is valid for two years for multiple journeys. ๐๏ธ Remember to allow 72 hours for processing.
Fijians transiting through Wellington or Christchurch will still need a visitor visa due to the lack of transit facilities. If you have an existing Transit Visa, you can use it until it expires. For those visiting, studying, or working in NZ, the appropriate visa is still required.
