Lest We Forget

On Thursday, April 25th, we honour the contributions and sacrifices of Kiwis who have served in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations worldwide.

Anzac Day was first observed in 1916, commemorating the landing of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915. Despite ending in defeat for the Allies, this event and the ANZAC spirit became significant commemorations for both Australia and New Zealand.

The Anzac’s at Gallipoli were a diverse Corps, with Kiwis and Australians receiving support from personnel of the 7th Brigade of the 29th Indian Brigade, the Indian Mountain Artillery, Ceylon Planters Rifle Corps troops, the Zion Mule Corps, several battalions from the Royal Naval Division, the British 13th (Western) Division, and battalions of the British 10th (Irish) Division.

Today, that tradition continues, with Kiwis known for their adaptability, resilience, and ability to work effectively with different cultures and coalitions.

Art Deco Trust Napier is thrilled to be a supporter of Trees That Count, a remarkable conservation charity that simplifies the path for businesses to achieve their sustainability goals by sponsoring native tree planting.

So far, we've proudly funded the planting of 1,503 trees across six locations:
