We've been working on a few existing pool refurbishments lately...here's an example of one of them, still with landscaping to be done - the difference is amazing! Just some of the pools we've been working on this Summer so far...it's amazing the transformation once coping stones, water treatment, decking/concrete and landscaping are completed...will post more pic's when they're completed. It's not too late to get your pool in before Autumn, heat pumps are very popular this year - makes your valuable asset able to be used all year round!

No, this is not a Northpools Pool but a good example of a relatives concrete pool in Hastings which had some damage during the last Earthquake. Fortunately Cascade pools with Vinyl liners are flexible enough to withstand most ground-shaking events!
Just to advise anyone who may be about to build their pool/fence....
as of early last week, a new Law has been passed by Parliament to be added to the Building Act 2004.

Effectively, this means that the Fencing of Swimming Pool Act 1987 is now null and void and the new amendment to the Building Act means a swimming pool need no longer be "Fenced" on four sides, if a sufficient "Barrier" (such as a cliff edge, vanishing edge, Haha, building or structure) prevents access to the pool area by children of 5 years and under.
It will also be interesting to see how long the various Councils throughout New Zealand take to act on the new rules.
For the rest of us, we look forward to a decrease in frustration in
obtaining swimming pool Building Approvals, fingers crossed :)
