As partners of French Polynesia's Tourism and Hospitality School, our mission is to support and mentor young students, helping them become proud ambassadors of our history, ancestors, culture, islands, and the vital energy that brings it all to life.

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of meeting them at the James Norman Hall House in Arue, where we explored the works of authors James Norman Hall and Charles Nordhoff. Among their many writings is the famous "Mutiny on the Bounty."

One of the students guided us on the tour, delivering a great experience that truly brought the authors' world and legacy to life. We are immensely proud of the storytellers they are becoming and feel deeply honored to be part of their journey.

During our recent visit to Bora Bora we stayed at The St. Regis Bora Bora Resort
And we had an incredible time. We enjoyed the attention to details, the warm smiles and "'ia ora na" fusing from the staff.
Among many other touches, each villa comes with a set of bicycles and we enjoyed riding throughout the resort and to the restaurant.
We tried the Italian restaurant Farniente and on that rainy evening, it was just the perfect dinner of homemade pasta.

With their oversized overwater villas, top-notch dining options, signature 24/7 butler service and infinite views of the lagoon and Mount Otemanu, St Regis Bora Bora meets every demand with style and glamour.

THE AMERICAN CONNECTION...

Everyone knows or have heard the name
But there is more behind the name than what we could think...
Bora Bora once was a U.S. military base during World War 2. The airport - still in use today - was built during that time and remains of bunkers and cannons can still be seen up in the mountains.

The small airport is located on a motu islet and all transfers are done by boat, making each arrival and departure an excursion on its own.

This island gem is located a 50-minute flight from Tahiti. It is undeniably love at first sight…
But did you know...
Before the arrival of the Westerners, the island was named Vavau but also Motu Tapu Ora or Mai Te Pora, which translates into “emerged from the darkness” or more precisely “created by the gods.”
Oral transmissions tell that this piece of land was the first to emerge from the ocean, giving it the name Pora Pora i te Fanau Tahi meaning Pora Pora “the first born”. With time and Western influence, Pora Pora has become Bora Bora.

Did you know that the history of surfing in takes us back to a woman?
"In our country's history, the origins of surfing trace back to a woman," shared Éliane Tevahitua, Vice President and Minister overseeing Culture, Higher Education, Environment, Land Affairs, and Handicrafts. "She hailed from the Leeward Islands, specifically Ra’iātea – Taha’a, and ventured to Tahiti to explore its various waves, including Hava'e. According to our legends and stories, she is the pioneer of surfing."
Her statue now keeps a watchful eye on all surfers who come to face THE wave :-)

The humpback whales have arrived, cruising our waters as they do every year to give birth and ensure their calves gain enough strength to continue their journey.
It is a time of the year we particularly cherish as we can often spot their sprays or even jumps from afar while sitting on the beach or driving along the coast.
This is also a reminder to be respectful of their space for the comfort of both mothers and calves.

About 500 persons are expected at the Surf Olympics fan zone each day during the competition...

It was with great emotion and anticipation that we welcomed today the first aircraft of the brand new domestic airline company, Air Moana💙💙💙 An ATR-72 named Poeiti (Small Pearl). The duo leading the company are 2 Tahiti-born entrepreneurs filled with determination and faith in our future. They have made our Tahitian sky "bluer".
