Cape San Agustin is the most southeasterly point in the Philippines situated in the island of Mindanao, between the capital City of Mati and the coastal town of Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental, facing the vast raging waters of Celebes Sea on the south and the calm waters of Davao Gulf on the west.

How to get there?🚗🚌🚐🛵

🚌One has to pass through several other south district barangays from Poblacion (town center).

🕐It is about two to two and a half hour drive from Davao City via private transportation or public utility buses 🚌at the Ecoland Bus Terminal, or L300🚐 vans at Gaisano Mall and Victoria Plaza in Bajada to reach Governor Generoso.

👣 Aliwagwag Falls in Cateel, Davao Oriental

The Aliwagwag Protected Landscape is a protected area that preserves a major drainage catchment in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao in the Davao Region.
It contains the headwaters of the Cateel River in the southern Diuata Mountain Range which provides the water source and irrigation for surrounding rice fields and communities in Davao de Oro and Davao Oriental provinces.
It was named after the remote rural village in the municipality of Cateel where Aliwagwag Falls, the country's highest waterfall, is located.

📌Known for its staircase-like boulders, Aliwagwag Falls has become a top tourist destination in the province. This picturesque 84-tiered falls with more than 130 cascades stands at 1,110 feet making it the highest waterfall in the Philippines.

If you want to go to Aliwagwag falls, book a flight ✈️from Manila to Davao. When in Davao City, you can ride a bus🚌 and head to Cateel town which will take about🕐 5 hours and another 20 minutes to reach Aliwagwag from the Cateel town center

In case you are on a🚗 private service, you can drive through Compostela Valley Road or Matti Road which will take you straight to the location.

HOW TO GET THERE?🛵🚙🚐🚌

Private car🚙

You can take a🛳️ barge at the Sasa Wharf going to IGACOS or Island Garden City of Samal. For a private car🚗, it costs around 270php one way plus 20php per person inside the car. Travel time🕐 is only 15 minutes maximum. Once you reach Samal Island, another 20php is asked for environmental fee. Then drive from Babak to Penaplata.

Public Transport🚌🚕🛵

Option 1: From Magsaysay Park, wait for a bus going to Penaplata or Kaputian (riding Kaputian is much preferred). The bus🚌 will also take the barge but busses are given priority over private cars. Around 40-50php per bus ride.

Option 2: Ride a motorboat 🚤from Sasa Km. 11 ferryboat wharf going to Babak Wharf. Once you reach Samal Island, you can hire a habal-habal.🏍️🛵🚲
