"Japan helps the Philippines screen potential cases of the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCov).

In response to the request from the Philippine Research Institute Tropical Medicine (RITM), Japanese experts lead by Professor OSH*TANI Hitoshi from Tohoku University came to Manila and gave assistance in containing the virus strain. The “primers” given by the Japanese experts will expedite the process of testing whether suspected coronavirus cases have the same genetic code as the strain from China.
