Shandur Polo Festival is a sports festival held annually from in the first week of July in Shandur Polo Ground,Chitral which is the world highest polo ground at an altitude of 3,700 meters (the pass itself is at 3,800 meters). The polo tournament is played between the teams of Gilgit-Baltistan Districts and Chitral District.
The festival also includes folk music, dancing and a camping village is set up.
This year the festival held from 1st to 3rd july after long break of two years. Tge final match is played between Gilgit A team and Chitral A team. In the first half of match Gilgit team has scored 9 goals and chitral team score only 4 goals. At the end chitral team won the match by 10-09. Both team played well at the ground and we wish team Gilgil better luck for next time. By counting these match Chitral won 14 matches back to back. Congratulations team Chitral A for the big victory against Gilgit team.
