IS THIS STILL NORMAL?
Can it really be the case that a life no longer counts?
I have now really needed a few days to sort out my thoughts, because I was deeply disappointed, sad and I almost came to tears when I saw the video of the K2 summit climb of July 27 in the media, in which several climbers step over the dying Pakistani high porter Mohammad Hassan, to tick off an other 8000er on their list.

I don´t want to name names now, but also very famous climbers summited on this day!!! And the world celebrates them. Are these really the values of today?
I could puke that people are able to act so indifferent, selfish, greedy and without compassion.

You, who may follow my thoughts for some time, might know how such things take me. The whole behavior on these for me holiest places of the world embodies our sick performance society.
These are not climbers to me, as they should have a minimum of respect, comradeship and morality.

Sorry, but today I can't be the gentle Tamara, because this moves me just too much...although of course I must say that I was not there myself and therefore I can´t judge the situation 100%. But... :
Mainly there are people on these mountains now, with oxygen, who could not take a step without a porter and of course would not be able physically to help someone. If they want continue to the summit, their porters must naturally go with them, and can therefore badly help others (also there: the summitbonus calls).
As we say in South Tyrol: "A gueter hebs und umen letztn isch net schou!"
Which in English would be: "Someone strong can stand it and for the weak is not a pity anyway!"
Regardless of losses, it needs to be the summit. No matter if someone dies or I put other people in danger by my overexertion!"

I am deeply saddened, because alpinism, once also a little romantic, is going in a direction that for me is just sick and awful!

And finally, I could no longer sleep and would even be very very ashamed of this behavior!!!

I am happy to meet the young Pakistani mountaineer she has climbed multiple high peaks and made history by being the youngest person to summit both a 6000-meter and 7000-meter peak. Her most notable achievement was climbing the Spantik peak, standing at 7,027 meters, at the age of 10, with the help of her father Yousaf Khawaja She is now eyeing to scale nanga parbat 8126m Diamer bunar face .i wish her all the best and hope that she continues to inspire others to pursue their dreams.
