4.1 KM Bypass Road at Sukki Kinari Dam and new tunnel at Mansehra-Naran-Jhalkad section inaugurated by Chinese Administration and NHA. Old road at dam site is now closed for traffic. This would help ease traffic and save travelling time to Naran-Gilgit.

Babusar Road was opened briefly today but there are high risks of vehicles slipping, as well as snow avalnahces and landslide. Some of the turns carved out of the piles of snow are too narrow, which could cause accidents.

Deputy Commissioner of Diamer has therefore said that vehicles will not be allowed through Babusar until the road is made safer and a notification of clearance of the road is issued by his office.

A vehicle moving towards Chilas earlier today faced an accident, injuring three passengers.

Tourists and other travelers have been advised to wait for the government notification before making travel plans.
