What a start to July for Vagabundo Travel. 5 tours in 6 days Benagil thrice, Wine Not and 15 Wasted on the West Coast alongside Tom. Benagil has been my main tour for more than 7 years now and it sucks when rules get in the way of a good time. I’ve bought some kayaks now and will be able to continue getting people inside this beautiful cave. Bye Bye swim and chill, I guess we’ll now kayak and chill.

I’ve been called a few things in my life, but never any better than being described as an Aussie Matthew McConoaughey. If you’d like to meet the man himself I’ll be continuing to swim people into the every Monday, Wednesday and Friday this year. Vagabundo Travel are back in the Benagil cave. I moved to Portugal to escape the fun police, so it’s nice that the police here have stopped policing. Another cracking weekend in the life of this Vagabundo. The Aussies were out in full force with 5 on board for Saturdays and 6 for Wombats birthday wine bonanza, with the cutest little Aussie of all joining us for her first ever Vagabundo day out. Paislee, you definitely were the star of the show.

It’s been a very exciting start to 2024, I’ve still managed to swim quite a few to , but look out for changes to this one. I’ve also started Algarve winery tours, Back in Time, zip lining people from Spain to Portugal, all while continuing to surprise myself with guests for my Lagos walking tour. Wasted on the West Coast has been revived nearly every Saturday and today I even found a new untouched Algarve gem to show to the masses,

A very fun October week for Vagabundo Travel. Monday it was a ‘Feast of the East’ 7 Hanging Valleys, Silves and Monchique, Wednesday Henry helped out for Benagil and the beautiful Praia da Marinha and Today a little West Coast adventure. They can shut down the cave, but they can’t shut me down just yet.

So exactly one month ago ‘the powers that be’ decided to ban access to the for swimmers, kayaks and SUPS. After swimming over 2000 people in over 7 years (including my 70 year old mum) it’s come to this. Vagabundo Travel will continue showing off the best of the Algarve and hopefully the authorities will come to their senses in 2024 and see that it’s big boats rather than people affecting this gorgeous natural amphitheatre. If you’re one of the lucky ones that got to see the cave with Vagabundo count yourselves lucky and if you never got around to writing about your experience with us we’d love to hear from you on TripAdvisor. Currently 21 out of 154 tour providers in Lagos it’d be nice to jump up a few spots.

No longer a one trick pony, since they closed the earlier this month I’ve had to reinvent the wheel a little. Today I got to take a couple of couples from my walking tours on an extended epic walk. is the most beautiful trail in the Algarve and it certainly didn’t disappoint, we’ll be back. Great to have the wombat onboard, navigating the cliffs like only a wombat can.

Yesterday was a special Wasted on the west coast tour. After 10 years of seeing pictures and hearing of this crazy tour I operate, I finally got to take my mum along for the ride. Getting to toast dad's birthday together from this very special spot is something I'll never forget.

Walking on Coals

At Vagabundo we love to finish our days with a piping hot BBQ, why I feel the need to walk on the remains of said piping hot BBQ remains unknown. Sorry mum if you see this one, I swear I'm looking after myself just two days ago I joint the gym or is that joined the gym?

Shotgunning Benagil

Pretty testing day in the Vagabundo office today, challenged by three hurdles we somehow managed to leap over each like John Akii-Bua. Advice that the seas were flat had us assuming we'd be in for a cruisy cave swim, the roughest seas yet meant instead the most epic of swims. Our favourite security at Sitio das Fontes then decided rather than have time to cut the cake we didn't even have time to light our BBQ, hold us back it did not. Off to Canavial for the best view in Lagos, woops where's the grill plate. Like good boy scouts and great girl guides we collected sticks and began to grill - Bear Grylls style. I'll shotgun to that!! Might be time for a gas BBQ eh dad?
