A message of love — from to the world ❤️
Stay Safe, Stay Home, Stay Strong

“It takes courage to love, but pain through love is the purifying fire which those who love generously know. We all know people who are so much afraid of pain that they shut themselves up like clams in a shell and, giving out nothing, receive nothing and therefore shrink until life is a mere living death.”

There are moments when you feel like they are the worst time of your life, as if the world gets surrounded by darkness that you never wanted to be in.
There are days like that when you do not want to get out of bed, you do not want to get out of the house, when you just want to be left alone.
The only hope that you are holding on to is that you know that one of these days, things would be better.
Better days are coming indeed, and once they do, you will realize that everything that happened to you happened due to a reason.

Happy New Year ❤️

Happy Nowrouz, Happy New Year
Peace , Love & Health ❤️

Nowruz is the Persian, or Iranian, spring celebration of the New Year. It’s the most important festival of the year in Iran, and it's a public holiday there and in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Albania and other countries in South and Central Asia. It’s a happy occasion, and there may be as many as 13 days’ holiday from school!

When is it?

Nowruz begins at the exact day, hour and minute of the spring equinox, when night and day are of equal length. This is usually on 21 March. It’s the day when winter changes into spring, and it feels like a new beginning.

Spring cleaning

People prepare for Nowruz by cleaning the whole house, and everyone in the family helps out. Carpets, windows and curtains are cleaned. Anything broken is repaired or replaced. Silverware is polished. The house is decorated with flowers. By doing this spring cleaning, people wash away the bad things from the previous year and prepare for better things to come in the new year. They also put on brand new clothes to symbolise a fresh start.

Fire jumping

In the evening of the last Wednesday before Nowruz, bonfires are lit and people jump over the flames. The flames burn away sickness and bad luck.

Happy Yalda ❤️
These days, Christian countries around the world are getting ready for Christmas. All streets, stores and houses are decorated with lights for this festive season. You hear Christmas songs everywhere and some people even wear Christmas jumpers. For Iranians, all around the world, it’s different, because they are getting ready for one of their most important nights of the year: Yalda night or Shab e Chelleh. The majority of Iranians don’t celebrate Christmas, of course we do have Armenian communities and other Christian communities who do celebrate Christmas in Iran. I think Yalda is much more highlighted than Christmas in the streets of Iran. Let me explain to you what Yalda night is.

What is Yalda night?

Yalda means birth. Yalda night is a beautiful ancient Iranian celebration. Iranians are celebrating the longest and darkest night of the year or winter solstice. This night is on 20 to 21 December according to the Georgian calendar. I should add here that we in Iran use a different calendar, the Iranian calendar. According to this calender, Yalda night is the last evening of the autumn day or “the night opening the initial forty-day period of the three-month winter”.

Let me go back to the reasons why we celebrate Yalda night

This celebration is coming from the time when a majority of Persians were followers of Zoroastrianism prior to the advent of Islam. Ancient Persians believed that evil forces were dominant on the longest night of the year and that the next day belonged to the Lord of Wisdom, Ahura Mazda.

This night has been used in many Iranian poems to describe a dark night in which one gets separated from a loved one, creating loneliness and waiting. Other countries such as Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan are also celebrating this night.

How does Iranian celebrate Yalda night?

In the Zoroastrian era, people were advised to stay awake for most of the night, to prevent any bad luck from happening. People had to gather in the safety of groups of friends and relatives, share the last remaining fruits from the summer, and find ways to pass the long night together in good company.

This same culture still exist. Every Yalda night people are gathering with their loved ones. They would especially go to their grandparents’ house. Eat, drink and read poetry(Hafez) during the whole the evening to pass the darkest evening of the year with laughter and joy. Iranians believe those who begin winter by eating summer fruits would not fall ill during the cold season. Honestly this evening is filled with different type of food. Gaining weight is very common in that evening!

The most important fruits of the evening are pomegranate, the jewel of all fruits, and watermelon. Without them, there is no Yalda night. The color of these fruits symbolise the cycle and glow of life. These days you can find everything in the shape and color of these fruit such as cake, cupcakes or even in home accessories.

As I mentioned, during this night people also read Hafez poetry. You probably wonder why Hafez? Iranians believe in Hafez as much as believing in God. People make a wish, open a book of Hafez and the first poem they see is the interpretation of the wish and whether and how it will come true.

So in Yalda night each member of the family makes a wish and randomly opens the book and asks the eldest member of the family to read it aloud.

Explore the Grand Bazaar of Tabriz ❤️

Having located on the Silk Road, the Bazaar of Tabriz continues to function as the most important trade center for both the locals of Tabriz and the north-western region of Iran. In fact, the long history of the Bazaar can be assumed based on its contribution to the Silk Road. The Bazaar of Tabriz is a notable example of Iranian traditional marketplace, located in the center of Tabriz. It is hard to point out an exact date for the construction of the bazaar, but accounts of travelers date back to as early as the 11th century. It has been visited by many notable travelers such as Marco Polo, Ibn Battuta, Chardin, John Cartwright, etc., and remembered as an exquisite edifice. The bazaar of Tabriz was the first bazaar in the world listed as the UNESCO World Heritage site in 2010.

The bazaar of Tabriz is the longest covered in the world, spanning an area of more than 1-kilometer square meters. It stretches to the Ali Qapu mansion in the east, the congregational mosque of Tabriz in the west, and Meydan Chayi river in the south. The river divides the bazaar in two and many urban constructions have changed the face of the bazaar.

The original 11th-century building of the bazaar has been renovated and expanded during different ages. After the earthquake of Tabriz in 1779, the bazaar was reconstructed by the ruler of the time, Najaf Qoli Khan Donboli. As it is common for bazaars, this historical bazaar has served as more than a marketplace alone. It has served for social, educational and religious purposes as well. The physical structure of the bazaar maintains a connection with its functioning. Here, the architecture and the diverse social, cultural and professional elements are joined together, giving rise to a multi-purpose complex. Naturally, this feature creates a variety of career opportunities, enhances the commercial wealth and gives rise to multiple cultural interactions in Tabriz.

In Love With Kandovan, Tabriz ❤️

Kandovan is an extraordinary ancient village in the province of East Azarbaijan, near the city of Tabriz, Iran. With its at least 800 years existence, this remarkable place is inhabited by 670 people and offers scenic beauty for its travelers.

With homes carved inside rocks, some of them 700 years old, the Kandovan village is said to have been partially formed by volcanic remains from a strong Mount Sahand eruptions hundreds of years ago.

As you will see in the small movie above, this is a place where houses are not built on a mountain, but within a mountain. Another interesting aspect is the fact that the rock acts as an energy efficient material, keeping the house cool during summer and warm during winter. This is why most of the inhabitants here do not use heaters or air conditioning systems.

The intriguing architecture of this village seems to defy all rules and travelers are usually fascinated by its incredible slopes and irreverent paths. Recently a hotel was built, inspired by and connected to the “style” of the village. The “Rocky Hotel” features beautiful cave interiors with very comfortable living spaces. What we found interesting is that it takes ten months for four people to dig a room. Be sure to check out the video to see how these rooms look.

Meidan Emam, Esfahan

Built by Shah Abbas I the Great at the beginning of the 17th century, and bordered on all sides by monumental buildings linked by a series of two-storeyed arcades, the site is known for the Royal Mosque, the Mosque of Sheykh Lotfollah, the magnificent Portico of Qaysariyyeh and the 15th-century Timurid palace. They are an impressive testimony to the level of social and cultural life in Persia during the Safavid era.

Outstanding Universal Value

Brief Synthesis
The Meidan Emam is a public urban square in the centre of Esfahan, a city located on the main north-south and east-west routes crossing central Iran. It is one of the largest city squares in the world and an outstanding example of Iranian and Islamic architecture. Built by the Safavid shah Abbas I in the early 17th century, the square is bordered by two-storey arcades and anchored on each side by four magnificent buildings: to the east, the Sheikh Lotfallah Mosque; to the west, the pavilion of Ali Qapu; to the north, the portico of Qeyssariyeh; and to the south, the celebrated Royal Mosque. A homogenous urban ensemble built according to a unique, coherent, and harmonious plan, the Meidan Emam was the heart of the Safavid capital and is an exceptional urban realisation.
Also known as Naghsh-e Jahan (“Image of the World”), and formerly as Meidan-e Shah, Meidan Emam is not typical of urban ensembles in Iran, where cities are usually tightly laid out without sizeable open spaces. Esfahan’s public square, by contrast, is immense: 560 m long by 160 m wide, it covers almost 9 ha. All of the architectural elements that delineate the square, including its arcades of shops, are aesthetically remarkable, adorned with a profusion of enamelled ceramic tiles and paintings

In Love With Lahijan ❤️

Lahijan has been known as the “bride of Iran’s cities”; One of the oldest and biggest cities of Gilan hosting so many tourists every year. It is about 45 km distance from Rasht, the center of Gilan Province and placed in the east of this province. Lahijan constitutes of two districts, two cities, seven rural districts. It has more than 168829 poulation.

Lahijan is also known as the "City of Tea". Tea in Iran was cultivated for the first time in Lahijan and then it was spreaded from there to the other regions of southern coasts of Caspian Sea. Haj Mohammad Mirza Kashef al-Saltaneh was the first person who grew tea in Lahijan whose house, located in Lahijan on a hill overlooking the tea gardens, is today transformed into the Tea Museum.

Given to the influences of the mountainous climate of Alborz and Caspian Sea, the climatic conditions in Lahijan is temperate and humid.

One of the main recreational centers of Lahijan is tele-cabine or Baam-e Sabz (meaning green roof). You can reach to the summits using tele-cabine and watch the attractive city landscape from obove. Sheytan Kuh Waterfal in the east of Lahijan is another natural attraction of this city.

One of the most attractive parts of the city is Lahijan Pool in the east. There is a small island in the center of this pool which is connected to the southern section of the pool through a relatively long cement bridge.

Soostan Lagoon is another natural attraction of Lahojan. There is an interesting flora around the lagoon including tall trees, paludal plants and canebrake giving a beautiful appearenc to this place. The lagoon is the habitat of various birds and aquatic.

Amir Klayeh international Lagoon, Caspian Sea beaches, Alborz mountains and the vast rice fields are other natural attractions next to Lahijan.

Established in the period of Fath Ali Shah, Akbarieh Mosque is among the main historic attractions of Lahijan. Golshan Bath has also remained from that time. Lahijan Central Mosque is another historic building which is, according to the evidence, related to the 9th AH century.
