🛍 Market in the Garden - “Chom Chim Shop” 😃

In order to stimulate trade in northern Thailand, the administrations of the northern provinces organize this market: you will therefore have products from Mae Hong Son, Lampang, Lamphun and of course Chiang Mai. All this is musically animated.

SALAK YOM FESTIVAL 2019 in Lamphun 😃
From Tuesday, September 10th, to Friday, September 13rd, 2019, Salak Yom Festival & Salakapat Ceremony @ Wat Phra That Hariphunchai Woramahawihan (วัดพระธาตุหริภุญชัยวรมหาวิหาร, the beautiful temple in the heart of the Lamphun City, former Haripunchai, 35 km south of Chiang Mai, 45 minutes drive, https://goo.gl/maps/b5rfqqELhbE2).

Don't miss the big parade Thursday afternoon and the cultural performances in the evening! “Salak Yom” is an ancient merit making ceremony originally for women of the Tai Yong, an ethnic minority. The ceremony will be present of an elaborately decorated 'tree of gifts' to the Buddhist monks and novices of the local temple, in order to make merit and transfer this merit to loved ones who passed. This amazing religious event includes 'Salakapat tree' making, making merit ceremony, local performances and Lanna food market.

Full Schedule of Salak Yom Festival 2019 :

*** Day 1 - Tuesday, Sept. 10th *** The preparations
• 9.00am: Decoration of the 'Salakapat tree' during the day.
• 6.30pm: Opening of the market (typical Lanna food and other regional products) in front of Wat Hariphunchai, along the canal, with cultural entertainment.
In the afternoon, be sure to visit the Tha Singh wooden bridge, with its shops selling many OTOP products.

*** Day 2 - Wednesday, Sept. 11th *** Further preparations
• 9.00am: Decoration of the 'Salakapat tree' during the day.

• 8.30pm: “Kha jao ja tan salak yom” performance (a fusion of modern and traditional Thai dances).

• 1.00pm: Salak Yom tree contest
• 4.00pm: Opening of the traditional market
• 5.30pm: Salak Yom Big Parade - DON'T MISS!

• 10.00am: 'Ham Ga Long' poetry competition in the "Gang Sa Dan" building and musical performance (local violin).
• 11.00am: Alms giving food to monks and novices
• 01.00pm: 'Salak' are offered to monks. Donations are made in the hope that they will find their owners (spirits representing deceased ancestors). End around 3pm.

Salak Yom is one of the lots offered in the festival of Salak Pat (trees of gifts). However, only females may be the providers. This may only be done once similar to the ordination of a man which may be done once. Thus it has to be great and beautiful. There need to be a lot of preparations. A person doing it needs to be determined. Items that are put in Salak Yom include those of a woman such as combs, face powder, cosmetics, necklaces, rings, money, gold etc. Once these have been accepted by monks, the providers will ask for these items back. Another type of items will include items that are used for the preservation of Buddhism such as monks’ necessities. Moreover, Salak Yom is beautifully decorated and dyed with colours at the end of bamboo lots. Items that are hung on the lots need to be dyed as well to make sure that this is the greatest offering and making merits in one’s life. The festival includes performances of traditional fiddles; Salak Yom Contest; Poem Recitation Contest (Ham Ga Long); reading of writings on lots and Salak Pat Offerings.

***ATTENZIONE*** Qualsiasi persone sia sensibile ai seguenti argomenti consigli di non guardare.

Oggi voglio pubblicare qualcosa che va al di fuori di Chiang Mai, che va al di fuori della Thailandia, che va al di fuori anche di ogni mente normale che ci sia sulla faccia di questa terra.

Cambogia Phnom Penh, Tuol Sleng, detta anche S21, qui tra il 1975 al 1979 si consumato il genocidio tra i più brutali della nostra storia. Mesi di feroci torture venivano applicare ai prigionieri da parte dei Khmer rossi comandati da Pol Pot.
Non voglio scrivere in quanto forte le immagini rendono piu' l'idea di cosa sia successo quel dannato carcere.
P.s all'interno della S21 di regola non si possono scattare foto ma io sono riuscito a farne qualcuna scusate per la qualita'.
