The Seven Churches Of Revelation

The Seven Churches of Revelation are also called the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse, as quoted in the New Testament Book of Revelation. During the initial part of Revelation, Christ assigns John of Patmos, his servant on the Greek Island of Patmos to jot down what he saw on a scroll and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea.

Conservation of Terrace Houses in Ephesus Turkey

Week 6 of conservation in Terrace House 2
After many biocide treatments and the fixing of the plasters, cleaning has begun on the Southern wall of SR16: after removing all the rests of soil and moss, the decorative scheme, comparable to the one in SR 26, is clearly visible now.
In SR 28 the removal of the old in-fillings allowed the fixing of the original edges of the plasters, clarifying the statigraphic reading of the layers.
Cleaning phase is also proceeding on the imitating marble stucco panels of the room SR 17, using solvents to remove the rests of synthetic material of former interventions followed by Ammonium Bicarbonate compresses.

Ephesus Heeron - Private Ephesus Tours

Heroon was built to honour Androclus founder of Ephesus City in 2. Century Bc. It was a u-shaped structure with an upper floor in Ionic order and was decorated with reliefs depicting him killing a wild boar, which was the legendary foundation story of the city.

Today Heroon is decorated with cross reliefs that makes people think Heroon is a Christian monument.

Crosses were the decoration of a fountain with pool and stoas were built in front of the monument in the Byzantium Era at the period of Emperor Justunianus. (526-565 AD)
