KNP is 100% locally owned and majority of its employees are within the vicinity of the factory where the natural spring is located. KNP aims to encourage environmental preservation of the natural forest which has enabled the spring to exist for so many years. The locals have enjoyed this tasty water for over 100 years since its discovery in 1870 by an old man who was cutting grass to feed his goat

s. By giving the local residents a priority in employment, KNP goal is to ensure that residents surrounding mount Kilimanjaro can afford and enjoy better livelihood by eating nutritious foods, educating their kids in good classrooms as well as preserving the good heritage mount Kilimanjaro has accorded the locals for so many years.
