Hippotamus are second in weight, only to the elephants weighing upto (5 tone's).
They have sweet glands but have auinque gland that produces ared fluid hence amyth that' hippos(sweat blood)

Spends most of the day in water to keep cool and minimize heat loss.

Can also stay under water upto (5 mins) and often walk around the bottom of lakes.

They feed on grass and other plants due to their sedentary life. They also have the modest appetite.
They feed 40 to 60kgs at each meal.
They live for 50 years as their life span.

You need to know:
Murchison lies at the northern end of the albertine rife valley, where the sweeping bunyoro escarpment tumbles into vast, palm dotted savannah.
It was first gazetted as agame reserve in 1962. It's ugandas largest and oldest conservation area, hosting 76 species of mammals and more than 451 types of bird's.
The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile,which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall creating the dramatic Murchison falls, the center piece of the Park and the final event in an 80km strech of rapids.
The mighty Cascade drain's the last of the rivers energy, transforming it into abroad , placid stream that flows quietly across the rift valley floor into lake albert.
The strech of the river provids one of the ugandas most remarkable wildlife spectacles such as elephants, giraffe's, buffaloes while hippo's, Nile crocodile and aquatic birds which are parmanet residents.

Grey crowned crane!
They are found in the grassland and wetland areas of the southern and eastern region of Africa.
Unlike other Crane's, crowned usually roost in trees.
They do like to dance.
The Chicks are precocial, which means they can run as soon as they hatch.
They can flock in large numbers, anywhere between 30-150.
It's the national bird of uganda.

Did you know , Dominant hippo's tries to kill every male baby as early as possible to avoid dominance pressure.The mother must hide her son after giving birth to unknown place until he grows enough to challenge his father. When they meet it's a tough fight which results to deadly injuries or even death. If the father wins the mother will take her son back to the hiding place until the time he can defeat the father.
