Life of a golden monkey: this is a very rare and unique species found in Rwanda, Congo and Uganda in the foothills of the virunga volcanoes.
They weigh 10-25 pounds, have a golden body, cheeks, and tail with black limbs, crown on their heads and tail end.
They are a sub species of the blue monkeys and are found in the bamboo forests of the virunga volcanoes.
The golden monkeys have been habituated hence they are used to humans and will go about with their daily lives while you are there.Let's enjoy the beauty of travelling with

THE BATWA PEOPLE OF UGANDA
these were the original people of the rainforests and they were the first inhabitants of montane rainforests of Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
They lived,gathered and hunted in the rainforests for over 500,000 years.
During their time,there was no farming, no destruction of the forests,no charcoal making and their shelter did not disturb the environment. They lived in harmony with all their surroundings and left a low ecological footprint.
Today,less than 3,000 batwa people exist.

THE KOB
This animal is a type of an antelope and it is found in the different parts of Africa which include the sub-saharan Africa in south Sudan, Uganda the Pearl of Africa, the Democratic republic of Congo and in Ethiopia
The kob is normally reddish-brown and this is how it differs from other kob subspecies
The difference between a male kob and a female KOB is that,the male one has horns and its big in size while the female is the opposite of the male
The male KOB gets darker as it gets old
