River Nile is the longest river in the world. Its source starts right from Jinja Uganda, some people may be wondering how the name Nile comes about. It’s a famous Greek word simply meaning valley. The river starts from the Northeastern part of Africa. It flows from the surrounding areas close to the equator to the outrageous Safari desert and up to the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The river is about 6696km long and pours its water to over 9 countries although it’s more centered in Uganda as well as Egypt.

Bwaise is a neighborhood within Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Because of a lack of proper urban planning, it has grown into a commercial, industrial and residential township with poor infrastructure. The lack of developed infrastructure and poor service provision has exposed the town dwellings and residents to several challenges such as flooding, and water-borne diseases. The growth of slum tourism in Uganda has helped many slum people to get hope for the future by giving support to some schools in the slum.

I created a non-profit organization called U R Beautiful years ago and am partnering it with my baton group, Rockola Twirlers , in order to take the sport of baton twirling to Africa!

How exciting is this!! Imagine 100 smiling faces in the Orphanage CLUB BANDA . They have never even HEARD of baton twirling and now they will get an opportunity to try it!
