Imagine climbing up a tree to run from a lion, only for it to follow you all the way up! Yap, that’s a possible scenario if you encounter a tree-climbing lion from Ishasha!
Why do these lions like to sleep in the trees during the day? Some possible reasons that people cite include:
1️⃣ To protect themselves against the numerous biting tsetse flies on the ground level
2️⃣ To escape from the heat on the ground and enjoy the cool breeze.
🤔🤔 Could it also be a vantage point from which they can observe the movement of prey?
"For whatever reason, they are an amazing sight to behold," says U.S. Mission Uganda employee Peter Kennett, who took the amazing shot.
