Gorilla Habituation Experience In Uganda – Spend More Time With The Gorillas
There is no known actual definition of the Gorilla Habituation Experience. However, it can simply be known as the act of training wild gorillas to become used to the sight of people. It involves different groups of people like the trackers, conservationists, trackers, researchers and rangers among others who take a period of about 2 to 3 years completing this habituation experience. It is a learning experience that has just recently become a stable activity presented by the Uganda Wildlife Authority on a small scale. This experience only restricts the persons to a maximum of 4 each day, thus bookings for this kind of activity are to be done 6 months prior to the actual habituation day specifically during the months of December all through to March and July to October.

The Permanent Secretary, in the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities; Ms Doreen Silver Katusiime opened a 3 day (19th to 21st November, 2018) Change Management and Team Building Workshop at Colline Hotel, Mukono.

The workshop is aimed at bringing together Tourism Agencies and private sector to increase institutional efficiency and effectiveness as we aspire to contribute to driving Uganda to a middle income status, through tourism growth and inclusiveness.

The workshop is proudly supported by Competitive Enterprise Development Project (CEDP), funded by the World Bank.

Motor Cars for transport of tourists imported by licensed tour operators have been exempted from tax as long as they meet these conditions;
1- 4wheel drive with an open roof facility for game viewing and a sitting capacity not exceeding 12 passenger
2- The car must have provision for camping , rescue and first aid equipment, baggage compartment and communication fittings.
3- The car's colour should blend with the environment where it operates . The car should have clear and Conspicuous label or marking of "Tourist Vehicle"
4- Any other condition imposed by the commissioner.
