Some of the residents at Abilene’s Coronado Nursing Center heard about the fires in the panhandle, and decided to help. They spent time assembling goodie bags for the air and ground crews at the Abilene Tanker Base, and then staff delivered them!

One of these amazing people is blind, so she opened bags for other residents to fill. Words cannot express our respect and gratitude.

Some complain, others get it done. Blessings to the residents and staff at Coronado….you are welcome here anytime.

They started arriving last week and flew all weekend, but we haven’t had time to post.

For the first time since ABI became MAFFs certified (Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System) two years ago, a National Guard C-130J-MAFFS06 is on station.

Also for the first time, we have 2 Canadair CL-215 Super Scoopers and a DeHavilland Q400-AT on the deck as well.

Plus a BAe 146, 2 RJ-85s, a King Air-Lead, and King Air-Air Attack.

We are proud to support these non-profits doing great things!

It was a full morning. The load up of our shelter dogs went great. It is a grand sight watching these homeless pets fly away knowing they are in hands of incredible rescues who will find them their forever homes. Wyoming. Montana. Canada. Here they come!!!

We had a special morning at Abilene Aero. After almost 10,000 flight hours, over fifty years of flying, and on his 92nd birthday, Dr. Jack Ramsey took his last flight as pilot in command. Dr. Ramsey serves as our Board Chair at Abilene Aero and is the nephew of M.T. Ramsey, one of the founders of Kinsolving Field, Abilene’s first airport. Congratulations Dr Ramsey! Well done sir!
