More than two weeks after Hurricane Helene hit Asheville, large parts of the city are still without power, we still have no running water, and visitors are still being asked to stay away. Small businesses all over our community are struggling during what should be one of the busiest months of the year. If you're able, buy a gift certificate from your favorite Asheville business, or see if they have a GoFundMe. I've set one up for BREW-ed Brewery & History Walking Tours to help stay afloat during this time. If you're not able to donate, would you consider sharing this post? Facebook really won't let many people see it without paying them money, and a few shares would go a long way. Thanks to everyone working to help, and know that Asheville will recover!

Hurricane Helene will be remembered as the worst natural disaster to hit Asheville in modern history. Many of our local breweries were damaged or destroyed by this devastating storm, while others were fortunate to come through unscathed. However, the city remains without water, and without running water they cannot reopen. Without breweries, there cannot be brewery tours. Many people from around the country have been asking how they can help from afar. October is normally the busiest tourism month of the year, and we use that money to stay afloat through the winter. This year, we are asking those who are able, to please consider donating any amount to our GoFundMe. We will use that money to make sure our team is ready to resume operations as soon as it is safe. Thank you for your continued support, and we hope to share more great beers and great stories with you, soon!

Today marks BREW-ed's 10th anniversary running brewery tours here in Asheville! I want to thank all of the breweries who have helped make this possible, as we couldn't have done it without your support. Asheville Brewing, Catawba Brewing Company - South Slope, Hi-Wire Brewing, Twin Leaf Brewery, Eurisko Beer Company, Burial Beer Co., Green Man Brewery, you all helped a beer nerd realize his dream of leading educational tours and sharing great beer with our guests. Thank you for letting us bring people in to your work space, and for letting us share your stories.

To everyone who has participated in a tour along the way, thank you for your curiosity and taking the chance on a different kind of brewery tour experience. When I started BREW-ed, I had no idea if this concept would work, but so far I still have a roof over my head and I owe it all to you!

And finally, to our awesome team of super knowledgeable brewery tour guides who use their passion for beer to give our guests the best experience possible. For the first several years, I was really hesitant to let anyone else lead tours, but you have shown me that the right people can be trusted to give an amazing experience. I've learned a lot from you along the way, and I appreciate your energy and the way you care for the people on your tours.

If you'd like to find out more about what I've learned over the past ten years, check out the post below. And thanks again!
