We opened our doors in May 2007, and even though we are a fairly new location, we have found that our unique store is becoming quite well known. McClanahan's is located in the historic town of Bryson City, North Carolina; surrounded by the "outdoor capital" of the world and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We are also conveniently located ten miles west of the Cherokee Indian Reservation and about 20 miles east of the Nantahala Gorge.

Soft-hackle flies are a great choice for any water. This one combines the iridescent shimmer of peacock feathers on the body with what looks like partridge feather for the hackle. That gives the fly the appearance of natural movement. A red "hot spot" colored tail combined with epoxy at the head rounds out a simple, effective design.
