Happy to announce we will be adding this vessel to our fleet of available boats ! In 1944, Illinois-residents Larry and Jan Stults visited the Boca Grande area on a fishing trip. During that trip, their guide boat passed a small island that was up for sale. In June of 1944, the Stultses signed a contract to purchase that island, then named Palmetto Key, for $25,000. Shortly thereafter, they converted the Rinehart Estate into a small inn and renamed the island Cabbage Key after the Cabbage Palm, also known as Sabal Palmetto, the official state tree of Florida.
