Viking Photography About 20+ years ago, I was told to market my photos. So, now I'm doing just that! But they are both me. :-)

DeviantArt - for all my more creative (& sometimes NSFW) works - https://www.deviantart.com/clatsopduck I primarily photograph nature and landscape, especially when I travel, but I like to capture anything that catches my artistic eye. More recently

(in the past few years), I've started using Gimp to make some of my images much more artistic - partly to increase sales in my stores, but partly just to make beautiful art. It was this change that prompted me to change my main brand from Viking Photography to Viking Visual (two separate pages on Facebook, since I could not just change my page name and url.)

Why not Zazzle or CafePress?

I think I should probably explain why I have now rejected two of the biggest names in the game.

I was recently preparing for a post (https://steempeak.com/art/@viking-ventures/places-to-sell-your-art-on-products-adventures-in-art-ventures) on where to sell your products. Before I started this, I decided I should give Zazzle and CafePress each one more try. The results? Both of these stores are extremely difficult for the artist to use in finite time. It is time-consuming to add products, half of which must be either painstakingly corrected (Zazzle) or simply deleted (CafePress.) The alternative is to spend hours working out exactly which product works with which size of picture and develop product groups for each size and have 5 or 6 different pictures for each site! (This takes time, effort and hard drive space! Especially if you want pictures that are large enough for all products!) (Society 6 has the same fault, so I have not developed a store there and thrown away the $1 fee they have for establishing PayPal.)

RedBubble should be considered *the* industry leader for artists’ tools. They are a dawdle to use. You only need 1 picture of your largest size (8k minimum horizontal x 7k minimum on vertical) and it is added to all the products with only minor adjustments needed. They also have it possible to have repeating patterns if you so desire with only one extra click per product group. (I say group, because if there are multiple products with the same template, it is automatically added to all of them!)

RedBubble consistently pay me and are attentive to help requests and even suggestions, so do give them a try if you wish to sell your works.
