Why would women be interested in learning how to shoot ? Most want to learn for defensive reasons. Some want to know gun safety “just in case “ they ever need to handle a gun. Others are interested in the shooting sports as a hobby and then there are those for which it is just a bucket list item. No matter how you look at it, learning gun safety and shooting fundamentals is a good skill for everyone! Targetmaster

Kids and guns !

Have you talked about gun safety with your kids? it’s better to know than not know ! If a child knows nothing about guns and finds one, what are they likely to do ? Most likely they will touch it, pick it up. Bring it to you ? Does this thought scare you? Teach your kids what to do if they find a gun ! Depending on age, maturity level and personality, maybe you teach them STOP! DON’t TOUCH! RUN AND TELL A GROWN UP! Like Eddie Eagle teaches in the gun safety video! https://eddieeagle.nra.org/.

Or maybe they are old enough to learn more ! One way or another talk about guns with your kids! It doesn’t matter if you have a gun in your house or not ! Like it or not , guns are out there! Teach your kids! Accidents are preventable.

“Never say never !” Is what I said to this man about his wife! At their 2nd lesson he told me she would never be able to shoot his full size 9mm . He was certain! He said this in the company of his wife several times, even as we were handling the gun doing dry fire in the classroom . She struggled with racking and locking slide open. We moved on and used another one of my guns which she had more success with. On the range , I wanted her to try their gun again because it was the one they had in the house and she needed to learn how to use it . This time she worked the gun like a boss! The husband was behind us saying, “ wow! Look at her go!” Etc. She shot a good group including a bullseye! Her husband watched in surprise as she proved him wrong ! Her smile was as big as could be! Her husband, although still In disbelief was so proud! He said , “ well I never would have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes!” The wife asked me,” Why Do you think I couldn’t do it in the classroom?” “Because he was telling you and me you would never be able to do it! And you believed him .” Words can definitely mess with our heads! Think positive, be positive! Never say never! Well done to this couple! They were such a pleasure to teach! 😎💜💜 Targetmaster
