Check out this awesome time lapse behind the scenes at Classic Carriage Works!
Classic barn fun fact: We mix our own shampoo! It’s a special blend that ensures that the Percherons coats are not only shiny but, some of the softest coats in the city.
Feel free to let us know if you have any questions about the Percherons and their care in the comments 💚
WARNING: This video contains images of a Classic Percheron showing off in front of his friends. The following video has been known to make people smile and laugh.
Don’t say we didn’t warn you 😉💚
Bud has the most unusual “scratchy spots”... or actually any spot is a “scratchy spot” for Bud.
What are your pet’s odd or unusual “scratchy spots”?
The Safety of the Classic Percherons and our staff is always our number one priority. For that reason, team Classic began evacuating our herd to safer pastures yesterday afternoon due to the impending arrival of Hurricane Dorian. We will remain closed until further notice.
Stay safe, Charleston 💚

Is there really anything better than that first morning belly scratch?
We’d bargain to say that Bud thinks not 😍🤣
Free Percheron love with every tour 💚
Bill has been getting so much fan mail that he got his own locker with the human employees! Thank you so much for all the love! 🐴💞💚
On Wednesday, an employee of ours shared the story of our horse named Bill. In the now viral post, she details how Bill came to work with us as a “buy one-get one” horse otherwise destined to be purchased by a meat buyer. She shares the lengths that we go to, to ensure that Bill has the best life that there could be for a horse.
People fell in love with Bill. We have even received some amazon packages filled with Bill’s favorite treats (Nature’s Valley granola bars). It is so heart warming for us to see so many people fall in love with Bill and Ginger. A dynamic duo, no doubt.
However, we want everyone to know that Bill shares the same story as so many other carriage horses in our city and around the country. Horses that are destined for not so great places, being purchased by carriage companies willing to give them a life of luxury. Bill is one of thousands. Thankfully, Bill got lucky 💚
We would also like to say thank you to everyone who shared Ginger and Bill’s story. Thank you to the carriage operators around the country that work every day in hopes that people see their story like they saw Ginger and Bill’s.
Now that we’re done being sappy, here is an adorable video of Ginger giving Bill one of his granola bars from Icemans Thunder (great name, btw) at Armour Equine Services, LLC...
THANK YOU 💚

Update: We’ve just learned that Icemans Thunder is *not* a horse name, but we still think it would be a pretty awesome one! (For anyone wondering) 😂
We’re hanging up the harness early once again for the Charleston heat wave. ☀️

We’ve closed up shop for the day which means the Percherons will be spending the afternoon getting cool baths, hanging out under fans, and drinking alfalfa tea. 😎
We will be open tomorrow at 8:30am. Catch an early ride to beat the heat on our 9:00 early bird! 🐦

Welcome to the herd, Bowie ⚡️
Beautiful day spent on the training carriage out at the farm...
Who’s excited to meet the new members of the herd?
They’re back!
We are thankful to say that we had no damage from Hurricane Florence and that we will be operating normal hours tomorrow, 9am-5pm.
While we are grateful that we were spared from the wrath of Hurricane Florence, many equines did not fare as well as the Percherons. We are encouraging those that wish to help horses affected by the storm to make donations to the AAEP Equine Disaster Relief Fund @
