I don't know how I got so lucky to have had this family walk into my life, but here they are...

This one was a true labor of love...and patience...and flexibility...

Lynne and David had lived in their home in University for over 30 years. They raised their girls there, and they've rescued countless pups who have made sure that home was full of love and laughter for all 30 of them.

But embracing their new role as grandparents has meant also embracing a lot of change...saying goodbye to that sweet blue house to be a little closer to family with a little less maintenance and less stairs. It's been scary and emotional at times to say the least, but we've kept our eyes on the prize and we're finally reaching the light at the end of the tunnel.

This journey has not been without hiccups...supply chain issues, timeline delays, and a few crazy accidents that set us back...but Lynne and David took everything in stride and showed the most amazing grace and patience through everything.

If you are considering new construction, please enlist an agent to represent you as a buyer! There are great builders out there, but they have a LOT on their plates, and you need to make sure you have an advocate looking out for YOU when you're making such a significant purchase! Enlisting a buyers' agent is FREE to you and having someone in your corner through this process is invaluable in helping you navigate all the moving parts, from contracts to lenders to inspections to timelines to closing! Even with the best of intentions, I think we've had at least one hiccup in every single area above, but I've been able to advocate on their behalf each time.

And it doesn't hurt to have the most incredible daughter by your side either... Jessica Grisconis Spears, you've taken incredible care of your mom and dad through all of this, and we all know how beyond lucky they are to have you. Thank you for trusting me once again throughout this process.

Congratulations Lynne & David on your brand new BEAUTIFUL home in Simpson Farms. I love every single second of being a part of this crazy family, and I love you all to pieces. I can't wait to see you and the pups all moved in!

Most often, when I list a home representing the sellers, I don't have an opportunity to get to know the buyers much. Often, we don't meet until we arrive at the closing table. A few polite exchanges, well wishes, maybe a handshake, and then everyone moves on with their lives.

But God...and a very special angel...definitely had a hand in making sure these buyers and sellers crossed paths, left footprints in each others' hearts, and planted the seeds for a healing friendship they all needed.

This house was a home that will forever hold so many precious memories that Kylee and Kerri have of their mama. Cancer took her way too soon, but to meet her daughters and granddaughter, you'd know she raised some exceptionally smart, strong, resilient women.

While the decision to sell this home was an emotional one, we knew it was God's plan when a mother and daughter moving forward from a loss of their own would step in as the buyers. This mama and daughter who had struggled and heard "no" so many times through a challenging spring market had finally found their home...this home that I know will always be filled with love and light...and strong women. ❤️

There was so much peace at the closing table. It just felt right. And if you are a buyer who hasn't had things go your way yet, let this be your sign that when it's meant to be, it will happen.

To Kylee and Kerri...I am so grateful to have known your mama and to get to continue to be a part of your lives. You know she is with you every step of the way, and she is so proud of you. ❤️

Sometimes my job is rocking a sleeping baby so she doesn't wake up while her mama and daddy are touring a home...I'm not mad about it.

I remember rocking their sweet firstborn baby girl when they found their adorably perfect first home in Alexander Chase in Cornelius. This made their dreams of putting down roots in NC a reality and has been the setting for so many milestones in their family, including welcoming their second daughter.

These sweet girls, ALWAYS dressed in matching adorableness, are now almost 5 and 2, so this time around, my job has included countless games of hide and seek, holding hands down big steps, and watching episodes of Baby Bum on repeat. They kept their options open, but they've had their eye on a pretty specific street in a pretty specific neighborhood, and we were set on making it happen...

Today's market proved a LOT more challenging than their first go at buying a home, and I could not be more proud of this family for navigating it with the persistence, patience, and grace with which they have.

Last week, they signed away the deed to that sweet first home to a buyer who can't wait to start her next chapter there.

And today, they closed on their "forever" home on their DREAM street! They'll be walking distance to the first slide their girls ever went down, and someday they'll watch their girls walk down the steps of this house in their prom dresses. We did it!!!!! Congratulations, Hamilton family! Welcome to River Run...I'm lucky to call you friends and now neighbors!!

I have buyer clients apologize to me all the time for taking up my time, being "difficult", changing their minds, etc... my response is always the same... there is never a need to apologize AT ALL. This is my job...buying a home is a PROCESS...an especially challenging one right now more than ever...and if we stick with it together, it is SO WORTH all the hard parts when we get to the moments like these...

Beginning a new chapter of life in a new place is exciting...and scary...one of those experiences in life that exist as evidence that we can feel SO many emotions all at once.

This has been a long time coming, and I think we've wandered down every possible path and dipped our toe in every pond to finally find the perfect place for their next season. They're leaving behind a full life and a gorgeous home in Durham (let me know if you know someone who's looking!), but nothing could beat being close enough their two adorable grandbabies to pick them up from school and watch T-ball practice.

This Baileys Glen beauty will no doubt be the venue for cookie baking and Sunday dinners and sleepovers with Nanny & Poppy, the back yard will soon be filled with beautiful flowers, and being just around the corner from family will fill their lives with love more than anything else ever could.

This has been a journey...a testament to faith that God will always help us find the right way, no matter how windy and twisty the road may be... and I've been so grateful to navigate this crazy market with these sweet friends and be a part of this huge step.❤️
