51 ancient Greek coins were returned to Greece after being seized while on transit through the O'Hare Airport cargo facility in 2022. The repatriation took place today at the National Hellenic Museum with Ambassador of Greece to the US Greece, Alexandra Papadopoulou, the Consulate General of Greece in Chicago and the Department of Homeland Security.

"Gather Together" is an exhibit at the National Hellenic Museum. On display are more than 80 photographs from Diane Alexander White. She's been taking pictures of Chicago parades and cultural events for more than 50 years. Tim McGill went to the museum in Greektown to explore her work.

It was the bi-centennial year when I photographed the 7th Annual Gay Pride Parade in 1976 for a documentary photography class at University of Illinois at Chicago. Thank you to Windy City Times and Kirk Williamson for including my photo on the cover and on page 20, and to Scott Cramer for the recommendation. Happy Pride!

The June 24 issue of Windy City Times is online, in news boxes and in open locations around Chicago and suburbs. This issue looks back at Pride celebrations of the past and this month’s Drag March for Change. We look at the healthcare rollback through the eyes of a local trans man, LGBTQI refugees who seek asylum in nearby countries and we talk with downstate activist Buff Carmichael about his late husband and the 1996-2008 Prairie Flame newspaper.
