Spotlight on Women initiative, by hosting “Summer Soirée at the The Dayton Art Institute.” Partner in charge Christine Haaker welcomed the group of attorneys and their guests and Dayton DEI co-chairs Susan Cornett and Cori Haper provided background on the firm’s DEI program and a look back at 1999, when our women’s initiative began. Two guided tours were offered, with the most popular being Riveting: Women Artists from the Sara M. and Michelle Vance Waddell Collection, an exhibition including extraordinary art by contemporary women artists drawn from this major private collection. Staff at the Dayton Art Institute supported this event with Thompson Hine’s Ellen Geron.

Last week, our Cleveland office came together for our annual summer picnic on Public Square. With a backdrop of our vibrant city, we enjoyed delicious bites from local food trucks, indulged in refreshing ice cream, and enjoyed some lively music and classic yard games.

It was the perfect afternoon of camaraderie, laughter, and sunshine. Here's to making more memories with our incredible team and celebrating the best of summer together.

Last week, we had the pleasure of partnering with the Association of Corporate Counsel Southwest Ohio Chapter to host a program titled "Juggling Generations in the Workplace.” The event was a deep dive into the complex tapestry of generational interactions that shape our work environments.

🔹 We learned to identify and appreciate the distinct mindset and attributes of the various generations that make up today's workforce.

🔹 The session provided us with tools to understand the root causes of generational conflicts and offered strategies to foster collaboration within diverse teams.

🔹 We discovered how to leverage the collective strengths of different age groups to drive outstanding team performance and results.

A special thanks to our presenter Priya Dhingra (Klocek), CEO, Business Coach, and Consultant at Consultant On The Go LLC, for her engaging and informative presentation. Her expertise in navigating cross-generational dynamics has undoubtedly equipped us with the knowledge to elevate our leadership skills and embrace the power of diversity.

This past Thursday, Jamar King hosted members of the Dayton-Wright Chapter of AFCEA at a Dayton Dragons vs. Fort Wayne baseball game. The group enjoyed baseball, good conversation, and traditional ballpark fare.

The Dayton-Wright Chapter of AFCEA provides an ethical forum for military, government, industry, and academic organizations to collaborate, ensuring that technology and strategy align with the needs of those who serve. It is a non-profit organization for professionals that provides thought leadership, engagement, and networking opportunities. AFCEA focuses on cyber, command, control, information technology, communications, and electronics for the defense, homeland security, and intelligence communities.

Last night, eleven Thompson Hine employees and their family members participated in friendly game of softball with athletes from Empower Sports in Independence, Ohio. This amazing organization exists to “enrich the lives of athletes with diverse challenges through sports and exercise while promoting kindness, character, and relationships. [They] believe athletes of all ages and abilities should have an opportunity to participate in the games they love.” This was our second (now annual) event with these inspiring athletes.

The event included a private networking reception followed by a guided tour of The Met: Costume Institute’s "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" exhibit. This week, we're excited to share some highlights from our New York Summer Associates Program. Our different practice groups treated our associates to a few fun activities this summer. To name a few, they enjoyed stunning city views at Summit One Vanderbilt, followed by a wonderful dinner. They also had a delightful wine tasting experience at the popular Vanguard wine bar in Midtown and a fun night of mini golf at Swingers Crazy Golf Club.
