In the making since 2021! It finally happened! Happy New Year!

Off season upgrades are well underway. The number one cosmetic thing about this house that made us crazy were the chandeliers in the front hall and over the dining table. The number two thing was the grimy old hood above the stove. You would think changing that out to ready it for a microwave would be a simple process. Wrong! Many thanks to Above Code Electric OBX for a. Finding an awesome solution to the many challenges this house presents and b. Actually calling us back, showing up and doing what he said he was going to; which truly makes him a unicorn among beach contractors! IYKYK. Grimy old hood is gone, electrical outlets are all updated, dedicated line is run for the microwave, and all cabinets have been raised to accommodate the new microwave and stove, which we are expecting this week!

I am so excited to unveil the new/old dining table and chairs! The best friend anyone could have convinced me that our honey oak dining table could be brought into this century by being refinished and she was right! I cannot believe this is the same table!

FYI for anyone planning to head to the 4x4 this summer...Beach parking permits will go on sale beginning April 3. Permits are $50 each. A limit of 300 per week will be sold and all purchases must be made online at:

Vehicles are required to use driving lanes adjacent to the dune line between Milepost 14.5 and Milepost 17 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. beginning the Friday before Memorial Day through Labor Day.

New roof being installed bright and early today!

A neighbor was sitting on the beach today and this little guy came wandering by. The nest by our house finally boiled and it turned out to be a green turtle nest. There apparently are not many green turtle nests so this one making it is super exciting!

We got caught up in the end of school, etc. so we haven't posted the latest. We had the second twin bed refinished and added to the room. We are still on the lookout for art and a rug for this room but overall we think it is turning out super cute!

So much love and gratitude to everyone at Ad Light Signs & Lighting Services Inc. for taking our silly napkin sketch and breathing their magic into it to make it the fabulous sign that was hung on the house today. Aside from me seriously misjudging the color of tan bedskirt I needed, Queen Room 1 aka Clown College is finished. We removed everything from this room except the solid wood dresser but we did change the pulls on it. We added a new bed, ceiling fan, bedding, blackout curtains, art, and rug.

Twin room is still a work in progress but getting close! We disassembled and refinished the bunks (The second bed is still curing and will be added soon). We trashed the 3rd bed that was in here along with about 2,000 VHS tapes. Refinished the solid wood dresser. Repurposed and refinished an old cabinet into a nightstand, added new lamps, curtains, and bedding. I'm still on the lookout for a cute rug and art for this room. If you see any, send a link my way :)

King room is finished! We only kept the long cream dresser and lamps. We replaced the ceiling fan and TV with a 40" smart TV. We added a completely new bed (that actually has a headboard) blackout curtains, bedding, art, and rug. Finally, we found and refinished an old solid wood dresser and nightstands to complete the room.
