Me? I like them both.

Cruisin' Around the World as a Solo Traveler

For those dreaming of an epic world cruise, but you're a solo traveler, don't fret! While cruise lines use smaller ships for their world cruises, which may have limited solo cabins, there are ways to find a perfect accommodation.

File away as useless information. Until it happens to you.

In 2022, an estimated 3.9 million bags were stolen from airports worldwide.

The U.S. airport with the most reported luggage thefts in 2022:
1. JFK: 1,768 thefts
2. LAX 1,394 thefts
3. MCO 1,058 thefts

What to do? Apple Tags and travel insurance.

Apple Tags: At least you know your luggage is not where it’s suppose to be and where your clothes are off to when the bag is swiped. Little consolation.

Travel Insurance: You may lose the baggage for good but you can file a claim and in most instances be compensated for loss through your travel insurance policy.

The cruise excursions business is surprisingly fragmented. There are only two major aggregators, and a few other large players.
This means that there is a lot of competition for customers, and that prices can vary widely.
In 2023, an estimated 31 million people will cruise worldwide, surpassing the 2019 mark. This is a sign that the golden days of cruising are back. Passengers are eager to get back to cruising, and they are looking for a variety of excursions to choose from.

The fragmented nature of the cruise excursions business presents both challenges and opportunities for operators. On the one hand, it can be difficult to stand out from the competition. On the other hand, it also means that there is a large market of potential customers to reach.

Operators who are able to offer unique and high-quality excursions will be well-positioned to succeed in this market. They should also focus on building relationships with cruise lines and travel agents, as these are important channels for reaching customers.

Here are some additional details that could be added to the rewritten text:
* The major aggregators is Viator.
* Other large player in the market include Shore Excursions Group
* The fragmented nature of the market can make it difficult for operators to get their products in front of potential customers.
* Operators can overcome this challenge by building relationships with cruise lines and travel agents.
* They can also focus on marketing their products through online channels.

The cruise excursions market is poised for growth in the years to come. Operators who are able to adapt to the changing landscape and offer excellent customer service will be well-positioned to succeed.

Flying this year? Choose Global Entry or Clear

Global Entry and Clear are two popular programs that can help you save time at the airport. However, they work in different ways and offer different benefits.

Global Entry is a government program that allows you to skip the long lines at customs when you return to the United States from an international trip. To qualify for Global Entry, you must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, pass a background check, and pay a $100 application fee. Once you are approved, your Global Entry membership will last for five years.

Clear is a private company that offers a biometric-based identity verification service. Clear members can use dedicated kiosks at participating airports to quickly verify their identity and skip the line at the TSA security checkpoint. To sign up for Clear, you must pay a $189 annual membership fee. You can also add up to three family members for an additional $50 per year each.

The best program for you will depend on your travel habits. If you travel internationally frequently, Global Entry is a good option. It will save you time when you return to the United States from your trip. If you travel domestically more often, Clear may be a better option. It will save you time when you go through security at the airport.

You can also consider getting both Global Entry and Clear. This will give you the best of both worlds, and you will be able to save time at both the customs and security checkpoints.

Here are some additional things to consider when deciding between Global Entry and Clear:**

Cost: Global Entry is more expensive than Clear, but it also offers more benefits.

Eligibility: You must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident to qualify for Global Entry. Clear is open to anyone.

Participating airports: Global Entry is accepted at more airports than Clear.

Convenience: Clear kiosks are typically located in the TSA security checkpoint, so you will still have to go through the physical screening process. Global Entry allows you to skip the customs line altogether.

Water slides
This is where Royal Caribbean got it right. There are several water slides on Navigator of the Seas, including the AquaDuck, the FlowRider, and the H2O Zone. Kids will love splashing around and having fun on these slides.

The Arcade
The arcade has a variety of games, including video games, redemption games, and skill games. Kids will love spending hours playing their favorite games.

This coming week we're headed off on a 5-day cruise aboard the Royal Princess from San Francisco to San Diego and Ensenada. For us, this is an easy sailing without having to fly to board a ship.

For the first time cruiser, these are the things you can do on a ship:
- Explore the ship's many amenities, including the pool, spa, and theaters.
- Take a cooking class, learn to dance, or play a game of shuffleboard.

How many cruise ships will be cruising Alaska in 2023?

According to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), 46 cruise ships will be cruising Alaska in 2023. This is a slight increase from the 44 ships that cruised Alaska in 2022. The ships will depart from ports in Seattle, Vancouver, and Seward.

The most popular cruise lines sailing to Alaska in 2023 are Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, and Royal Caribbean International. These three cruise lines will each have 10 ships sailing to Alaska in 2023.

The average length of an Alaska cruise is 7 days. However, there are also shorter 3- and 4-day cruises available, as well as longer 10- and 14-day cruises.

The best time to go on an Alaska cruise is during the summer months, from June to August. During this time, the weather is warm and sunny, and the days are long. However, it is also the most popular time to cruise Alaska, so prices will be higher and crowds will be larger. If you are looking for a less crowded and more affordable Alaska cruise, consider going in May or September.

Here are some of the most popular ports of call on Alaska cruises:

* Juneau: The capital of Alaska, Juneau is a beautiful city with a lot to offer visitors. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, and kayaking. You can also visit the Alaska State Museum or the Mount Roberts Tramway.
* Ketchikan: This port city is known for its totem poles and its salmon fishing. You can take a tour of the Totem Heritage Center or go on a fishing excursion.
* Skagway: This historic town was once a major stop on the Klondike Gold Rush Trail. Today, you can visit the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park or take a ride on the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad.
* Icy Strait Point: This small town is located on the Inside Passage. It is a great place to go whale watching or kayaking. You can also visit the Icy Strait Point Native Heritage Center.
* Sitka: This town was once the capital of Russian Alaska. Today, it is a popular tourist destination. You can visit the Sitka National Historical Park or the Sheldon Jackson Museum.
* Hubbard Glacier: This massive glacier is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Alaska. You can take a boat tour to see the glacier up close.
* Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier: This beautiful fjord is home to two glaciers, Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. You can take a boat tour to see the glaciers and the wildlife that lives in the fjord.

There you have it! Alaska is on many bucket lists and the more common method is to visit via cruise ship. The 2023 cruise cruise season should be a busy year and many June dates are already sold out. Plan ahead to get the best ships, itineraries, staterooms and price!

11/16/2022

Are there staterooms for families that accommodate more than 4 guests? Yes! On the newer, larger ships, there are more staterooms that accommodate 5 - 8 guests. Plus, connecting staterooms - with an interior door that connects two rooms - are the least expensive way to include everyone on the next cruise.

Typical options:
- Connection staterooms of the same type (i.e. 2 interiors, 2 oceanview, 2 balcony, 2 junior suites)
- Jr Suites (on Oasis Class) for 5 guests
2-bedroom Grand Suites for up to 8 guests
- Connecting Jr Suites for 4 guests with a connecting Solo Interior on Quantum Class
- On the new Icon of the Seas, there are MANY more family options

The key is to plan early - sometimes 12 months in advance is cutting it short, especially for holiday sailings

Contact us and we’ll put together a great option for the entire family and/or friends list.
