Happy Birthday Mom, Janelle Owens Grogan in Heaven. She would be 100 years old.

God was good to us in that she gave us a firm foundation of Jesus Christ to live by. Because of her we became more loving and compassionate mothers to our own children.

I got my love of traveling from her. She made a California trip to see her sister Doris, my favorite, each and every summer. She also made a trip to see her other sister Louise in North Dakota before she moved from there. Every single Easter we went to our great Uncle Henry's and Aunt Viola's home in San Antonio and went to the Alamo for over 14 years.

She was fearless, except for respectful fear of God and Jesus.

People say I look just like her. I think I look like my Grogan Cherokee grandmother Clara more.

God was good for us all to survive our childhoods.

This is one of my testimonials on my website from a client. I met Alex around the spring of 2013. I have had some serious spiritual troubles along the way and have had enlisted spiritual help for the last couple of years. I have seen 3 psychics for these troubles and 2 of them made them worse — they were only interested in how much money they could get out of me. One of them got ran out of my town because she was mostly a thief, the real tragedy of it is that she had a real gift but she abused it; I think there is a special punishment on the other side for those kind of psychics, they hurt everyone they touch in the name of doing good. She’ll be amply rewarded!

So now I’ll talk about my 2 good ones. Johanna has really helped me with my problems with bad spirits. I love her very much and am included in their family celebrations. However, on a spiritual level she is from a very different culture and I don’t think she really understands me, especially since I’ve been in the military for a lot of my life. For my spiritual life she was awesome, but for my physical life we weren’t on the same page.

In steps Alex. I was having a really hard time: no job: no money; no man: no hope. I talked to her on the phone for about an hour and felt so much better. She talked about God and prayer and how it can change your life. She lives on faith; I used to live on faith. Then I had an overwhelming tragedy and neglected my faith. It was still there, but dormant. Alex woke it up. I still don’t have a job or money or a man, but now I have hope. And I know these things are coming. God gives us what we need, and sometimes even what we want. God is good to us and we have the recipients of an astounding number of miracles.

I’ll just tell you about my dogs. I have 2 dogs, Sophie and Frankie. I’ve had Sophie for about 7 years. I brought her home from the doggie hospital after she was hit by a car and lost a leg. Before that her owners beat her, and the dog they had beat her up. Then they moved away and left her to fend for herself, she was still a pup, less than 2 years old. My friends lived across the street from them and decided to help her. It took them almost a month to catch her. And then they tied her up on their front porch. I was the only person that walked up their sidewalk she didn’t try to eat. But I had another dog and it wasn’t looking good for them to be together.

After I met her, about a week later they called and said she had slipped the lead, ran off and got hit by a car. They didn’t know if she’d make it but if she did they would have to take her leg off. My friend didn’t know what to do because they already had 6 dogs in the house and some of them were aggressive. I said I’d pick her up from the hospital and she’d be my dog. It’s been quite a trip with Miss Sophie. She’s very particular about the company she keeps, both human and animal and I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned about dogs, leadership and myself with her. I love her, she’s the center of my world.

So for some reason I can’t remember, I decided she needed a brother last year. One of my friends called and her friend had found a male puppy that would be perfect for Sophie. So Frankie comes in to our little family — we also have 2 cats, Henry and Ivy. My friend says they’ll take care of the vet bill so I won’t have to worry about that. Ok, so I buy a crate and some doggie doors, I spend quite a bit of money getting ready for a puppy. When my friends see the vet bill they won’t pay. They want to pay rescue prices and Frankie is no longer a rescue, he’s my beloved pet. I still don’t have a real job, and I haven’t had Frankie a week and I’m already in debt for him. Great. And Sophie hates him, he just wants to play and she thinks he’s gonna hurt her.

Every day was about how to keep them apart but teach them to get together. I worked diligently on this, and worked on getting Frankie trained. He came to us about 8 months old and had never met a leash, didn’t know any commands and he was 40 pounds. So he was a train wreck. He was also a very fast learner and really smart.

When I met Alex, she told me to pray for peace for my animals. Not long after I met her I did some military time and my regular dog sitter retired a week before I left. There were a couple people in my neighborhood that loved my dogs and I was able to place them with these 2 families for 3 weeks.

Of course, they were so happy to see me when I got back! I was happy to see them too, they had been well taken care of and loved. But they still wouldn’t get along. And now we’ve had Frankie for 9 months, and I am losing all hope that they will ever get along. But Alex says pray for peace and love with your animals. So I start seriously because we have nowhere to go but up. Within a week Sophie gave Frankie a play bow. From that moment they started becoming friends.

Every day for 2 weeks was a new miracle with my dogs. They sat on the couch together, they played together more and more every day. They groomed each other. The 2 things I knew they would never do together were sleep in the bed with me and ride in the car. Guess what, we sleep together every night and there has never been a problem riding in the car together.

We are a living miracle!

Because of Alex we are a living miracle! Faith in God and prayer have changed our lives. She has given us solid, relevant words for our lives, based on God’s Word. Now my prayer is focused on a job, I feel it coming. We have another miracle coming to our lives very soon. It will be a big one for us! But I am so grateful for all the little ones with my little family that turned into such a big one.

My friend Ted Blackwell posted this today. This was life in the late 1940’s and 1950’s and actually in the 1960’s when I was growing up. It was the same across America.

We went to church. We respected God, family, friends and each other. Certainly teachers, cops, and we had funeral directors in our family and EMTs and Firemen.

My Dad made us mow all spring, summer and fall in Texas where the grass just keeps on growing and we had to bend over and pull all the w**ds up by hand. No w**d eaters.

Then he told the little old sisters in their 60’s that my sister & and I would be delighted to keep their grass moved and their w**ds pulled up.

We had no choice.

Ted’s description is extremely accurate.

Parents nowadays are too busy being their children’s friends. Take a look around. It is not the old days.

Rudeness, filthy talk, disrespect everywhere.

I grew up outdide Memphis Tn (Raleigh). and I never once questioned my mother's income or my father's!! It was never a discussion. We ate homemade meals consisting of meat, potatoes, and vegetables - (which were not an optional choice).

We didn't talk unless talked to, which we were known as the silent generation. We never touched anything that did not belong to us. We never opened a refrigerator at anyone's house unless asked to do so.

We were taught to respect other people's property. And we were rewarded for acting properly.

We grew up during a time when we mowed lawns, pulled w**ds, planted gardens and crops then harvested them, and helped with all chores. We by no means were given everything we wanted.

We went outside a lot to play, run with friends, play hide and seek, tag, or go horse or bike riding. We rarely just sat inside.

Bottled water was unheard of. If we had a Coke, it was in a glass bottle, and we didn’t break the bottle when finished. We saved the bottle for the return money.

We had to tell our parents where we were going, who we were going with, and be home before dark.

You LEARNED from your parents instead of disrespecting them and treating them as if they knew absolutely nothing. What they said was LAW and you did not question it and you had better know it! We watched what we said around our elders and neighbors because we knew if we DISRESPECTED any grown-up, we would get a real good whooping, it wasn't called abuse, it was called discipline!

We held the doors for others and carried the shopping into the house. We gave up our seats for an older person without being asked.

You didn't hear swear words on the radio in songs or on TV.
“Please and Thank you", were part of our daily vocabulary!

The world we live in now is just so full of people who hate and disrespect others.

Friends, consider Re-posting if you're thankful for your childhood. I will never forget where I came from and only wish children and people nowadays had half the chance at the fun and respect for real life we grew up with! And we were never bored!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, Alexandra Shaw has just crossed the Texas state line and had her first Whataburger in weeks. Jalapeño cheese try it you’ll love it.

As the song says life in the fast lane don’t it make you wanna lose your mind? This last week God sent huge miracles, I am on my way home with the third pick up load of my stuff collected in Hoosier land for 31 years.

I can only assume since Stephen passed away with a smile on his face, and he seldom smiled, that he is at peace with God. I am so thrilled for that.

I have so enjoyed meeting, wonderful people, building, new friendships, finding new prayer partners that are trustworthy to pray and exchange for my prayers, and laugh and have fun with. That part has been pure joy.

I feel like through God‘s word, and our prayers together as many of you have witnessed to me, Miracles have come into your life not because of me but because of your prayers & I am beyond thrilled for that. I’m always ready to join anyone in prayer, I’m not a Bible thumper, or a tambourine shaker, and I won’t ask you if you’ve received the Holy Ghost since you believed, but I will certainly pray for you. All the other stuff is between you and God privately

With my two replacement hips, knee, total shoulder, because of the dampness and cold I am in severe pain with osteoporosis all the time here in Indiana.

God is good I can still walk with a broken hip that has been a huge challenge the last two months in the sunshine so much more than y’all and I am sorry for y’all but I’m happy for us, it causes me so much less pain.

The 31 years I’ve spent here 5 to 6 months a year have made me totally compassionate to the suffering and challenges of people with pain that live here endure. It is a true hardship.

I am planning on making one final trip in 2 to 3 months just to see my friends and say goodbye.

I just want to thank each and every one of you that have wished me well thru this challenging 2 months and prayed for my recovery.

Cannot tell u how much it means to me. Friday visit with surgeon both the nurse and 15 minutes later the dr himself both simply could not believe I am healing so quickly.

It is not a secret to me that the power of God’s healing through Jesus Christ our Lord has been brought down to me through all of your thoughts and prayers. I know even a single tear silently is a huge prayer whether we ever say a word or not.

Pls know that when I say I will pray for u, ur family, friends, coworkers, pets, properties, vehicles and of course your work and retirement, I will do so. Not because I am someone special.

As we hear so often, I am a sinner, you are a sinner and only through the grace of redemption through Jesus our Christ are any of us going to make it when we get to hopefully make that big Heavenly trip.

As God often tells me “I am God and u r not. Quit making recommendations about how to help others. I have never used a human suggestion to solve their problems. Work on your patience, and Irish anger issues and keeping your conversations positive and never give up. I am here within you through the magnificent power of my son Jesus’s Divine Holy Spirit that I allow to dwell within you. Trust and obey me. You will be glad later. You answer to me, and none other. I give u life, breath and love from my people that serve me. Love them. Pray for them daily and love strangers and their children through uplifting complimentary words. Leave the rest to me. Bless all. Bless me. Serve me. I will prevail over all trials, tribulations and challenges that come your way. I am building your faith. U will need it. I am with u, within you and beside u every single breath u take. Trust and obey. It will all be worth it.”
