Opening in 1895 as Bennet Park, The Tiger stadium gained its famous name in 1961 when owner, John Fetzer, branded the home of the tigers. In 1997 the stadium was rebuilt with Concrete! 38% of the project was funded by Public finances. Comerica Bank also signed a naming deal with the stadium to fund the team with $66 Million. It was then that Comerica Park was born
