One of the first and last buildings we glide by on the Lakewalk tour is one step closer to restoration!

We talk about the revitalization of Canal Park on the Lakeside tour. Here is a picture of the area just prior to the opening of the Maritime Museum!

Canal Park –1973
We’ve come a long way!

“This image shows Canal Park toward the end of its light industrial era, dated June 9, 1973. At the bottom center of the image is the Northwestern Iron and Metal Company scrap yard. The newly constructed Marine Museum is visible below the canal; its grand opening was on September 29, 1973. Also visible in Canal Park are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers building (1906), next to the Marine Museum, the Sand Bar, 522 Lake Avenue South, and the home of Jeno's Incorporated, 525 Lake Avenue South, now known as the Paulucci Building. In the upper right corner of the image, on Minnesota Point is the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers vessel yard. An excursion boat in the canal approaches the harbor.”

Don't just take our word for it! Join us for a Lakeside Segway Tour and see for yourself!!!

"When you drive north into Duluth from Minneapolis, you can’t help but be awestruck by the sudden appearance of Lake Superior’s bright-blue waters and the sailboat-filled marina. Continue north and you'll hit the classic Split Rock Lighthouse jutting out on the pier. Indeed, rocky cliffs, sandy shores and pristine forests with miles of trails might make you forget about the beach altogether. Add to that a historic brewery, replicated logging camp and the Judy Garland Museum about an hour's drive away, plus restaurants like Northern Waters Smokehaus and New Scenic Café, and it becomes clear Duluth is like no other beach town in the country."

From Santa Monica, California, to South Padre Island, Texas, these towns boast the most beautiful beaches and charming locales in the country.

"One of those "wow" moments from tonight! I'm almost embarrassed to say I didn't see the bald eagle flying until I put this photograph on my computer. A beautiful ending to a windy, rainy, snowy Duluth day." – Matt Silverness
